Great pair of dumbbells. I use these for my home workouts. I like the fact that I can change weight quickly during a set, unlike with adjustable dumbbells. I also like the feeling of the knurled handles versus rubber handles. They did not have a strong odor, and I wiped them down before using them. Overall, a great pair of dumbbells.
The rack goes together easy, you don't need any tools (they're provided). It's sturdy when assembled and the mat is a added bonus. The weights themselves feel balanced and the grip is perfect. As for the "odor" I read in reviews - it's not that bad. I would air them out on a porch a day or so or clean them but mine are staying on porch so the odor isn't an issue. Honestly the boxes for packaging were the bulk of odor. A for the price and speed of shipping. It was packaged very well - all items in separate boxes (weights two per box obviously). They seem built to last and for $100 that's a great deal.
Honestly was iffy about ordering these because of the reviews. The packaging seems to have improve compared to the other reviews. Mine arrived all packaged still and the bottom of the box has a thin plywood piece. The picture i posted was after I opened the box. They do have a weird smell to them and almost a little greasy feeling at first but the smell is very minimal now after only 24hrs. Also the directions for assembling the rack were not helpful at all but wasn’t hard to figure out and the bolts all lined up well. I know other reviews said the bolts didn’t line up right. Deff worth the $100, not the fanciest or the best but good for the price
Putting it together proves no difficulty at all. Stand does not move or wobble and also comes with a small carpet for it. The pieces that hold the weights on the rack have plastic on it to protect the metal-to-metal contact, that seems to be the only issue I’ve found, but nothing too crazy.
The good news: They are 30 pounds each. The bad news: They ARE 30 pounds each. Bought them to do the farmer's carry (I am a 60 year old female). Got them in the house (up stairs) by carrying them one at a time. The box came intact, and was easy to open with scissors to cut through the straps. I think that they will work perfectly for what I want. (I've been able to farmer's carry 20 lb'ers around with moderate effort.)
Good product. Smells out of the packaging/box but I already figured. Letting it air out in the open for now. Weight is exact and quality so far seems right. A tad bit on the larger side if I remember correctly compared to the dumbbells at the gym but not a major issue.
I love weight set. it was very easy to assemble. it fits nicely in my gym area. i had weights that were scattered and disorganized. I like the ease of grabbing and start my routine with all the weights together. I can keep a good pace. The onlt thinb I don't like is the strong smell of rubber. I suggest coeaning them with mild detergent before you start using.
I purchased these 6 months ago and they still stink like strong car tire rubber every time I enter my home gym. It's taken too much time for that initial stink to go away so I cannot recommend them. They were also covered in a thick grease which needed to be wiped off but still persists when I pick them up. Great price but the product is lacking.
Was missing parts. I attempted to reach out to the manufacture by phone number and email in the booklet that came with it. No success because they don't answer their phone and their listed email came back as undeliverable. Walmart would not let me return it to the store. They wanted me to re-box it and mail it back to them. So much for returns.
Thought I got a bargain- a pair of 30%23 dbs for less than a dollar a pound. Nope! The rubber coating has an amazingly offensive petroleum smell. Even after scrubbing them down twice and keeping them in the sun to off- gas has not helped. Very disappointed.
