I take AlA for symptoms relating to diabetes and peripheral neuropathy. These include sharp pains and numbness in feet and hands along with loss of balance. This had no effect at all on the symptoms. went back to one of my trusted brands and within hours had 90% relief. I have found that to work properly ALA must contain the natural "R" variety. The "S" variety is synthetic and does not work as well if at all. Btw, balancing cost and effectiveness my two favorite brands for ALA are " Simply Natures Pure" and "Deal Supplement".
