I have only tried this for about a week so it's probably too early for results. The capsule itself is fairly large and I often can sort of taste it later even though I swallow it whole.

I read on health line that "Soluble fiber is a type of fiber that dissolves in water and forms a thick, gel-like substance" So. I tried it out, dumping a few capsules worth of the brownish powder into a some water and stirring it around...and waiting for some hours, stirring again, etc. All I ever got was a suspension of tan powder in water. Even allowing for some other content to the capsule I still should have seen some solubility and gooiness (2 capsules is supposed to contain 1g of beta glucans, but two capsules weighs 1.5g ...even allowing for the weight of the gel that makes up the capsule, there is arguably other stuff in there). I suspect at best each capsule has around 600mg of ground up oatmeal, not beta glucan.
