Very easy to use, I'm not good doing mechanical chores. I had no problem using this. I've had other models that the string did not feed smoothly, this was a big plus for me.
I was disappointed to not find this item on the shelf at my Walmart superstore because I had purchased the trimmer/blower set at this store. There was only a spot on the shelf for it. Then I went to Walmart.com website & found it for $2.31. I was very pleased that I had it shipped to store in one week.
I normally use my B&D edger to trim grass and remove weeds during winter. When the spool was empty, I did internet search and found this 2-pack replacement spool and Walmart had the best price! I was able to order online and pickup from store quickly. It worked perfectly too since it is from B&D as well.
After buying my trimmer from WalMart at least 5 years ago, I finally ran out of the string and ordered more online here with the ship to store feature. I am not very good with putting things together or reading thru instructions, but removal of the old reel and insertion of a new one was very simple and quick, and now my trimmer works better than ever. I love this trimmer because i don't have to breath in noxious gas fumes or mess around with oil, or even a long cord. It trim sperfectly fine, and i have an acre and half with many garden beds.
My lawn mower broke down so I resorted to using the electric weed trimmer (a Black & Decker Model GH600). I ran out of line in the spool & purchased a replacement package. The fact that it had 2 spools in the package made me buy it & I have not been disappointed. When one spool ran out of line I still had the other one to use. No quitting & wasting time running to the store to buy more. I just took the empty spool out of my pocket & put in the new one. Easy & quick as can be. It really was a time saver as I do my own lawn care. The line cut through thick weeds & tall grasses with ease. My mower is now working, but I am keeping extra spools just to trim away the thick weeds against the house, the garage, & the fence. I did try to cut through some really thick weeds, about 1" to 1-1/2" in diameter. It did not cut through the really thick weeds with harder stems. But the spools did well for most of what I needed to trim away. I am keeping extra spools for the trimmer as an addition to the tools I use for gardening & lawn care.
The spools arrived loose inside the shipping package, and they do not list Black %26 Decker on the spool. These spools are not factory-wound, as the thread is crisscrossed in multiple places. I specifically need factory-wound thread. I am not sure how the seller gets away with selling this as Black %26 Decker. This is clearly bulk, universal thread on an off-brand spool. I ram returning because I've been slapped in the shin too many times with hand-wound spools.
I just purchased a new spool for our B&D trimmer. I noticed the line that was formerly blue, was now white-no big deal. However, it sure didn't work as the previous spools had. I had to keep removing the cover to extend the line. Sometimes it would work, sometimes not. This is the first time we have had the problem. I am very careful when installing a new spool, to keep the line tight so it doesn't unwind. If I had the time, I would buy bulk line and wind it myself.
that is not the strain that goes with my Black %26 Decker weed wacker at all it kept breaking off it kept spinning around the spoolie I went through two rolls first I thought my grandson was messing up and not putting it in there right but then when the first spool was totally ruined I thought it was him that was doing it so the next day I'm like well I'll weed whack you mow the grass so I decide to put those spool of string on the weed wacker and the same thing happened pieces flew off hit me in the leg my busted my leg wide open it was bleeding it broke off in chunks and then it's spun out to where it was off the cartridge and I couldn't even use the weed wacker so I'm very disappointed very disappointed because it wasn't the right string for my weed wacker
The product worked but I was shocked when I opened the mailing envelope. It was that thin plastic type material. The two discs were loose inside the package. There was no paper work. No identifying anything. On the outside of the envelope was a square tag that said BD. Very strange.
While this is clearly advertised as "Black Decker", these spools arrived loose in a bag with no indication that it is a "Black Decker" product. This is clearly false advertising. Given, my mistake for not noticing that none of the pictures show the packaging for the products. Lesson learned!
