There are a ton of uses for Potato starch. I love it for thickening soup and sauces. I used to use corn starch, but it didn't like the texture that corn starch makes. Bob's Red Mill Potato Starch is gluten free and makes a more natural texture for soups, gravies, sauces and much much more. When a recipe call for thickening, I use this every time. Easy to use, great taste, awesome texture and consistent results every time. That is why I use Bob's Red Mill Starch. 5 stars from me.
It was suggested as a supplement for gut health. A half a teaspoon aday. I feel like my bacteria really did reset. iItching is a symptom of bacteria overgrowth. Diarrhea that is 3 to 5 times a week are symptoms of bacteria overgrowth. Bacteria are natural in ALL our bowels. The balance is SUPER important, not to little not to much. This is balance.
There are several products that you can use to try the resistant starch strategy. I think just because Bob's is a very trusted and respected name, it's one of the ones I use. Dr. Mark Hyman recommended it and I know he researches things very carefully! Interestingly, green bananas are also in the category of resistance starch so if you want to make something like a pudding, you can still have bananas in it! They won't be sweet bananas though, so you'll have to add some Stevia or some other natural sugar substitute. Mine tastes really great. I put a few of those frozen wild blueberries, that Walmart sells, into my pudding. I'm not sure about this, but it might be almost like calorie free lol (not medical advice.)If you're interested, you can find Dr. Hyman on YouTube talking about resistant starch.
You use flour and gravies and thick to me. But you always have to cook the flour, taste out of it. if you use potato starch, instead, you'll have the same thickening agent. But you won't have that flour.Taste.
the texture of this is starchy just as expected and I feel like the price is just right for the size. my go to shortcut when making German potato dumplings. it also works great in spaghetti sauce!
Many great uses. Use it to thicken stews and gravies to avoid the flour flavor. Helps gluten development in baking bread. Crispy light coating when frying.
This product has many culinary uses as a thickener. I am anxious to try it as a possible digestive aid as well.
I thought I would try this as an option instead of flour to thicken sauces - it worked beautiful in my spaghetti sauce.
Until walmart gives me my refund for the 2 bags I never received this review will stay 1 star. product is great and will be getting more but not through walmart unless they fix this. I have been waiting for over 2 weeks now for my refund, walmart needs to do better.
Item didn't come in time for when I needed it; the order got delayed
