As soon as I sprayed it on my dog the fleas couldn't get away fast enough. My dog is 9 years old and I've had him since he was 8 mos. old. I live in a wilderness area where the fleas are relentless. I've tried EVERYTHING over the years with no success. This works.
I use it on my dog beds and when my dog came back after her run in a wooded area, I used it on her directly. She didn't like the smell and began to squirm. No wonder ! Because I could see the fleas scurrying! I checked her carefully and saw no insects/!fleas !
So how I picked it up some bug in my car, I'm not sure what it was.Well, anyway, I got some Adam's and I sprayed my car down, and there were no more bugs, whatever was biting me when I would sit down in my seat.So I've been using Adam's for years. You can put it on newborn can and you just need to take a cotton ball for kittens that are under the age of like six weeks when you really can't use advantage so it's definitely safe for neonatal bottle babies only put a tiny bit on
I adopted a kitten a little over a month ago and tried to give him a bath the first week. That...didn't go well and I about lost my fingers, lol. I was given a single dose of flea medicine for him from the vet but here in the last week or two, I realized he was frequently scratching at his neck and chin. I didn't have the money for more of the usual kind of flea medicine for between the shoulders, so I decided to give this spray a chance until then. This worked amazingly well! Kitty wasn't happy with being damp for a night but I sprayed it on his body in the order informed on the bottle and then sprayed a washcloth and rubbed it around his face, avoiding the eyes. In just 48 hours, he scratches much less, and not as intensely, so I feel it's working. This spray isn't meant to be used just on its own and you should still get the real medicine, but this is a great, cheap solution if you're running low on funds.
This stuff is pretty amazing! Even though I did my monthly treatment for my dog she still managed to get fleas. Since then ive changed the monthly flea and tick medicine. In the mean time I purchased this. I sprayed it on my dog outside and watched the fleas jump off of her. It really works! I treated my entire house with this and as a prevention all the cats got sprayed as even though they are in door cats. Final result. No infestations! Happy owner!
have been using this for years. seems like this year we've had *super* fleas, because they've been next to impossible to eradicate. i've treated the yard, the house, the dog....it's insane. that said, my complaint about adams is their lack of quality control......numerous bottles have arrived leaking. this is NOT walmarts fault, this is poor bottle design. i've gotten a few that appear to have a better design (neck of bottle fits more snugly) but then the next bottles had the old design and leaked everywhere. for what it costs, this is NOT acceptable!!! but it does seem to work, and when it's dry, smells great. personally, i don't like the botanical version, it seems oily and sort of stinky
It's easy to use but the fleas keep coming back. It helps my shishitzu and dont know if extended use on my dog is harmful. So far hasnt shown harmful effects on the mut, but will keep a close eye on him. Live out in the country and its has been very dry these season that might have an effect on flea population.
I bought this to use my older cat and dog after the oral pills did not get rid of the fleas completely. Not only did it not work but it made my cats fur fall out and caused my dog to vomit profusely! This was so upsetting. Be cautious, it smells terribly bad as well. I used it twice for each baby. The first time I used it a little in a spot where they couldnt lick it, I waited a couple of days then did it again after a bath. The first time they both seemed distressed but I didnt see fur loss, second time my cats fur was coming out and large patches of dry skin. My dog vomitted a little the first time but it was much much more the second time.
This product does work. The fleas literally jump right off, it's incredible to watch. However, this was toxic to my dog. I see so many people have used it and loved it. Like human medication, obviously animals can have different reactions. I have a 6 month old basset hound puppy. His name is Oliver. The instructions say to spray 4 squirts per pound. Oliver weighs about 15 pounds. I only did about 6 squirts bc it was after a bath and I'd already manually removed most of the fleas and just wanted to be thorough. The next day Oliver was vomiting. About 2 days later he began limping with his back feet. Then it was like he completely forgot how to walk. It was the saddest, scariest thing I'd ever seen. He stopped eating as well and would cry any time I took him outside to go potty. After paying thousands at the vet, we learned Oliver was experiencing flea and tick medication toxicity. A quick google search also confirmed that this brand and this spray is commonly known for this reaction. We're still in the waiting game for Oliver's recovery. I hope he recovers. Please don't risk this for your dogs. Maybe for furniture? Not for the animal that you love.
I use Adams flea home spray and it doesn't smell great but it isn't unbearable. This spray which is supposed to be sprayed directly on the pet is horrific! Very strong chemical scent that lingers and made me nauseous. I smelled it before applying to my kitty and I am glad I did. I could never spray this on my baby .
