Catan 5E: Traders & Barbarians Expansion Strategy Board Game for Ages 10+, from Asmodee

Amazing gift for Christmas :). Warning this is an add on of the Catan original game, not a game by itself. I have 3 additions to catan now, I'm so excited to play:)

This was also the cheapest I could find this game anywhere. We played it this evening and it was wonderful.

best of the best expansion for Catan

3 scenarios that change the base game and 1 scenario to allow you to play the base game with just two players! Perfect since a lot of times people can't make game night and also makes the game play similar to Civ 6 (computer game). For my household this was a perfect edition to game night and to spice up catan for more season players looking for a challenge!

We have the standard Catan and a couple other versions. So far this has been our favorite that adds spice and many easy to learn variations to the game. In retrospect if I were to only get one expansion for Catan, this would be it.

This is like a box with a bunch of mini expansions instead of one big on like cities and Knights. Some are pretty cool some are kind of silly. But they certainly add variety to the game.

This version can only be combined with the original Catan. We were hoping to add it onto others, but it does not work that way. It is essentially 5 other scenarios that you can play, but you cannot play them together, as you have to set up the board in different ways depending on which scenario you are playing. I think we may be able to combine a few of the scenarios together, but not all 5.

Ended up returning it. Family wasn't interested.
