Great thermometers. Easy to use. Price is half of the others. Work very well to keep track of a cook wherever you are. The WiFi makes these great. The small probe diameter sets these apart from the others. Probes hold charge for 40 hours and the base holds charge for 20 hours. If you plug the base into a charger while using it's unlimited. I bought the third probe as well. Give ChefIQ a good look.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great battery life, wide range, strong connectivity, accurate readings, and durable design! long battery life, and seamless connectivity.
This temperature probe is actually great and very useful, such as for bbq steak. Initially, I had a small problem as I could not get the actual probe to register with the charging base and my iPhone app. I called the support line and within a minute I got it up and running (The probe sits in the cradle protected by a small plastic part. This part has to be removed!)
This is so cool. I used it for the first time to cook some chicken breasts. Okay, I have done this in my oven many times The chicken gets cooked and seems to be fine......just fine. Well, you get this thingy and your chicken comes out juicy and delicious EVERY time. I was amazed. I told me when the SMALLER breast was done and then when it was finished resting. The second one was done and resting in a short time. Then came time to eat them......they sat in the fridge for two days since I was 'meal prepping.' Cubed and warmed the small one in the microwave. Even the smallest piece was STILL juicy! Next the large breast - same, same. JUICY, JUICY, juicy. I recommend buying this and following the instructions to the letter. ENJOY!
This is the first digital cooking thermometer i have owned that truly works. The recipes are awesome and if you follow their instructions you will be a cooking hero!
Easy to use with very good results using on grill and in the oven, Notifications are a bit too much with no ability to bulk delete them in the app. Also, display for all three probes, when in use, should be improved to show all on single screen. Overall, a good product, with some minor updates to the app needed.
Cooking results have been good to excellent. The probe internal meat temperature readings are reasonably calibrated and consistent to within +/-2F for all three probes. Note however that the ambient temperature reading is not reliable and varies dramatically from probe to probe. I've cooked with all three probes active and have seen readings that vary anywhere from 25-50F difference even with the probes located within 1" of each other (in a steady state oven environment, minimum 5min dwell at a constant oven temp). The app is intuitive enough and the recipe selection is solid. I noticed the app is a little buggy, as I can't get a 'critical alert' to clear from my notifications screen even after multiple cooks reusing the same probe. Considering the price point I expected better.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was cool in theory but if i didn't receive it promotionally I honestly don't think I would buy it. The case is hard to charge when keeping in the kitchen and I (with only cooking for 1) am rarely cooking a big enough piece of meat to put a thermometer in.
Product was not the latest model available and is incompatible with 5ghz high speed internet. Had to downgrade to 2.5GHZ to get the unit to function. These things should have been disclosed at purchase and not leave the customer to struggle. App is OK but not great. Good concept, snappy advertising but lousy execution and customer care. I have subsequently switched to an alternate product where customer care, follow-up and disclosure are actually offered.
I believe this could be a great wireless thermometer however first cook prob 2 said check prob . Prob hot. Than nothing cant even reconnect. I will say the one that is working is great. ambient temp and meat temp show on the display still connected to WiFi while im on the third floor. I hope customer service will help me i will update my experience once I hear back from them and let you know the conclusion. Experience once I hear back from them and let you know the conclusion. I almost forgot I'm smoking brisket ambient temperature is around 275 280
