Coghlans Emergency Survival Horn

This is an excellent product for the price. We live near a national park and having this handy has helped us to quickly shoo away unwanted visitors from near the house. It's quick and easy to use. I even bought horns for my neighbors!

Bought this for my husbands survival bag and he loves it! Super loud! Looks exactly as pictured.

These are great survival and warning horns. Every owner of a rowboat should have one. They are also useful in powerboats without an electric horn or in case the electric horn should fail. It is a shame that not many boaters know the proper use of the horn.

light weight for protection

Easy to use, pretty loud, I thought I was getting an air horn which it definitely isn't - but still seems loud enough to help scare bears away

pretty loud for plastic blow

120 db. It actually does make a loud noise. You hold it to your mouth and blow in the hole in the side. Then all of that noise comes out near your ear. Inexpensive and it works. Seems like it would hold up ok but you aren't going to want to use it very often out of concern for your hearing.

Looks cheap...we will see

I don't think it's very loud at all. The ad for it said it could be heard over a mile away...I don't know what forced air tool they used to try and get it to be that loud but it was not for me. An average car horn is louder. None of the dogs I tried to use it to scare off were the least bit startled by it and none of them were scared back. Fortunately it's not expensive but didn't work as claimed.

Bought two of them. Thought they were great for disaster kit and they were reasonably loud, but just went to test them recently and they're broken already.
