Nice quality, durable, and makes delicious coffee! Used on glass stovetop, (use burner the same size as bottom of pitcher). Can use on a camp stove too. (Nice back up when the power goes out) No issues with glass knob!! The key to this is gently tighten all the way to the right, then come back about a quarter inch. (pencil width). There should be a jiggle noise and a wiggle. Too tight and your knob will break, too loose and water will bubble out. My tip is tried and true!! Filter is optional. I use a regular basket style filter. Flatten out, fold in half, repeat, repeat. Cut tip off the end, about an 1/8th inch. Open up, place over stem. Course grounds, regular will also work. Fill to the bottom hole on spout for 8 actual measuring cups of water. I use 1 Cup of grounds, covering stem hole in basket to avoid loose grounds. (makes about 4 mugs)... I've also halved the water to 4 C water and 1/2 C. grounds. (about 2 mugs with possible warmups). Once assembled, bring water to boil on med/high heat, once percolate starts, reduce temp to med. low. ...percolate 7minutes. you'll see the water turn to coffee. take off heat. coffee will be piping hot, fresh, delicious! I have never been able to drink coffee black until now! (and enjoy it!). The sturdy pot retains heat really well for warm ups. I was concerned about the handle being hot and needing a potholder. I use my bare hands without any problems. SO GLAD I got this one! I hope this helps!
Well made and of high quality. Very nice looking. Water heats quickly, and perks well producing very good coffee. Pot retains heat for a long time, making reheating unnecessary for some time. The capacity is very good. Very pleased and would highly recommend.
Works like a champ! Best cup of coffee ever. Just let it settle before pouring. Less grounds in your cup that way
I love the stainless steel, it is heavy duty, easy to clean and percolates up to 12 cups of coffee. Great for camping, and is handy to have if electricity goes off. Also handy for boiling water for tea.
I like coffee made in an old fashion drip pot or perculator. The drip pot I have is my grandmother's but kind of small when I have several guests. This perculator is a good size and the coffee tastes great. Pleased with my purchase.
I bought this as a gift for my daughter & son in law. They wanted a coffee pot for use in a rv. This is perfect as it can be stowed away when not in use. It is well made, & I'm told makes great coffee. Easy to use & clean.
The percolator is made really well and it is exactly what I want. I just wish it came with exact brewing instructions. It's been a long road of trial and error.
Being a senior citizen I certainly remember stove top percolators. I got so sick of the poor quality drip models breaking frequently that I thought I'd try this one, thinking it might be a pain and inconvient. Boy was I wrong, it doesn't take any longer than the many drip models that died, but it makes remarkably superior coffee.
I read about problems others had with glass bulb. Solution, don't screw it in all the way. Leave enough room for it to rattle. Definitely inferior glass. No QC there. Keep the handle from hanging over burner it doesn't get too hot to pick up. I like mine.
The glass piece for the percolator kept falling out. I had to glue it. It works good but I get a lot of coffee grounds in my coffee. I just pour it through a small sifter. It brings back memories of my grandparents. Tastes so much better than drip coffee.
