Bought this device to replace an old George Foreman indoor grill. Much happier using this device. Clean up is a breeze. Love that the plates can come out and the dishwasher safe. Trip tray is much better design than the foreman grills. Appears to cook very evenly. Happy with the purchase so far.
The waffles taste so good. I bought the Belgian waffle plates too and they really enhance the waffles. The deeper ‘trenches' hold the butter, syrup and the extra thickness makes them restaurant quality.
Works perfectly to make panini-pressed sandwiches, however the weight of the upper portion will squish a sandwich with really soft bread so I pre-toast the bread to make it stiffer and then make sandwich and press it. My new favorite kitchen gadget.
This Griddler punches above its size. It heats quickly and cooks evenly, and the reversible, removable plates let me switch from panini press to flat griddle in seconds. Cleanup is effortless—the plates and drip tray pop out and rinse clean—so I use it for everything from steaks and veggies to breakfast sandwiches.
After years of using a boxer's cheap sandwich maker, we finally decided to upgrade. It took reading the instructions to understand how to free the top grill to press the sandwich evenly… something the old grill just wasn't capable of doing! Then we saw the two sides can open as independent grills! That'll be great when we done want to pull out the full-size electric griddle. There are more expensive units with digital controls, but this'll do the job just fine!
Disgrunter has many functions that are beneficial to a better cook product in the end. It quickly makes evenly cooked burgers. Just make sure it is preheated all the way before you begin. I encourage you to read the manual that comes with the Griddler.
With a long winter and lots of snow and ice I was just itching to grill but the weather just wouldn't allow it. I did a little research online and decided to purchase the Griddler. I have been so happy with this indoor grill. From steaks and chicken to scallops and burgers, I've made it all. So easy to use and just as easy to clean. I wish I would have bought one years ago!
It's sturdy and cooks very well. However, you have to be careful not to burn yourself because the top lid isn't insulated. Because of this you have to make sure you unhook the top part BEFORE you warm it up if you want it free swinging instead of clamshell pressing. It also doesn't stand upright for storage and doesn't lock in place for ease of movement when you have it unplugged. So be careful when you move it so you don't accidentally scratch the plates against each other. The instructions that came with it were minimal and didn't even cover the basics of operation, only some safety points. I don't want to scan a QR code for a manual for a basic kitchen appliance.
It is good for Panini butt as far as bacon and other things that has grease it do not drain properly there's not enough space for degrees to drain and it spills off the back of the griddle when pushing away the grease.👎🏿
Truly a poor design! Grease and/or fluid does not drain off the center back, but pools in the rear corners instead, to the point of overflowing. This has happened on two identical Griddlers! Also, when you raise the lid to check on food, it does not line up over the edge of the grill plate, but about 2” behind ir, therefore dripping any grease or fluid on the countertop AND the on coil that connects the two grill sections.
