But it really does work! The bathroom gets very steamy and it's worked out well in there. I struggled with where to place it and finally settled on keeping it on the ground. Assembly was very easy! Enjoyed the fresh scent tab. And I'll be picking another one up for the closet.
It definitely pulls out the moisture. I keep this in our master closet as fall starts to approach in throughout winter. We live in a manufactured home where in the master closet there are vents for airing out the underside of the home in the crawlspace. During the wet season, I absolutely hate it because it starts to smell musty like it needs to open up. This definitely helps pull out that moisture and keeps that musty smell away from our clothes. This works for now until we are able to pay the money to have our crawlspace encapsulated.
Product does what it says it will do It collects moisture from room and leaves a pleasant scent. The container is not ugly at all. I would recommend this to anyone.
This really works to get the moisture out of the air.
I expected a unit requiring batteries and assembly instructions. What I got was a super simple setup with only 3 pieces! (a top, bottom and a replaceable moisture absorbing disc). After a quick assembly, I placed the unit in our porch area, on a concrete floor, where rain tends to leak in from the outside. Withing hours, there was already some water collected in the unit's reservoir. Definitely will be purchasing more replacement discs, and maybe additional units for different areas in the house. Pleasantly surprised with ease of use and quick results.
I wanted to try this out so I put it on the counter while I showered and I was amazed the whole bottom of the container was filled with water Then I stuck it in my boyfriend's bathroom when he showered with the same results It works great
I just received my damp rid yesterday so I just started using this product. So far so good but the only thing I do not like is the smell of the tablet that you put in the machine, it's very strong in my opinion but other than that it it's a decent product.
I just got it and willl be lonnnggg before I know if it may work, or not.
It's been very muggy here, but the DampRid doesn't even have 1/4" of water in it when I had it out for a week. It might work okay for closets, but I didn't find that it worked well for my small bathroom.
Run, do not walk, away from this nasty, leak prone, stanky glob that does NOTHING. I swear by DampRid, I buy the buckets and cups regularly (welcome to the South). But this is shockingly bad, and surprisingly, Damprid's CSRs couldn't care less. First, the smell is horrific - like burnt hair, the entire closet reeked when I went to grab something after approximately 7-8 days, and it took me a couple minutes to realise what the smell was emanating from. Secondly, the disc, within a week, was this molten glob of nasty gloop, blocking and trapping the putrid oily substance - which I immediately cleaned up. I do not know how Damprid continues to sell this line, as the reviews are so poor - I'm clearly in good company. It doesn't work (barely any condensation in the bottom), it stinks, and it melts into a grotesque glob within a week. Get the nags or the bucket, but DO NOT BUY THIS!
