I have used this product for many years and it works great to keep dampness away during the summer months. I love that it is unscented because of my allergies to scented products.
This product is great for humid climates and removes extra humidity from closed in spaces like closets, cabinets and bathrooms. Comes with great odor removal fragrances like vainilla , and others or plain.
I got this for my elderly mother to use in her basement near her well. It gets damp in the well area and there is a smell. These worked great! Easy to use, easy for her to open and set even with arthritis. No scent and grabbed a lot of moisture. She changed every few days and after 2 weeks the smell is significantly less musty Highly recommend for odors and moisture
My car has a small leak at the rear passenger every time it rained hard and I was starting to notice a smell coming from the area. I bought one of these after a hurricane and within a day my car was completely dry and the smell was gone. The container lasted about 3 months in my car which is a lot longer than I though. Damprid always makes good products.
DampRid works great for our home which is on a pier and beam foundation. We purchase two of these every 3 months and place one in the porch pantry (houses brooms, mops, aerosols, detergent, etc.). Another is set in a guest bedroom that is rarely used. The home is old yet beautiful (to us), but the dank smell could be overpowering at certain times of the year. These canisters work! Great purchase for our needs.
These use to be consistently good and would work every time. Now I feel like my last few purchases, regardless of retailer, the damp absorption isn't working as well, or at all sometimes. Ideal for damp places with high humidity where there is little ventilation. Closets. Pool areas. Pool houses. Bathrooms. Bedrooms. Boats. Lake houses.
I moved into a house that had a real musty odor, I even had a professional come check for mold and they didn't find anything. Still couldn't get rid of the old house smell but this did the trick. My rooms are very small though so take the size of the room into consideration when purchasing.
bought two, followed instructions, placed in kitchen cupboard, neither ever worked, none of the contents, I mean none, ever dissolved and no liquid ever appeared at the bottom, never absorbed smelly moldy odor. $7 each. Didn't function as product describes. I do NOT recommend.
I been using it a while now and it is doing absolutely nothing compared to a different type right that I am also using. The damp.rid bags and the reusable disk one I find work best.
I normally get the bucket of this but thought I'd try the small one so it's more out of the way in the bathroom plus the hanging version fills up with water very quickly. For some reason in a couple days of opening it the gravel like stuff turned into a solid and no moisture formed in the tray below. Now I'm not sure if it was supposed to do that but the bucket one didn't and the hanging one collected a ton of water in the bag underneath without the gravel stuff turning sold. I did leave it to sit for another week to see what would happen but the moisture in the air was heavy and nothing in the lower tray of the product. Went back to using the bucket version. Giant shrug.
