Dyna-Glo SP-KHW-055-I Replacement Wick for Indoor Wick Kerosene Heaters RMC-55R7

I have a Dyna-Glo heater and need to change the wick (and igniter) for this winter. I am going to go on YouTube to figure out how to do everything. I am sure that this wick and igniter will work. In any case, I will give an update review.

This product is identical to the original that came with the heater. It burns very efficiently. And the price point is reasonable. I would buy again when needed.

I've replaced the wick in my heater several times during it's almost 20 years in operation. Each time, the replacement wick is almost perfect. I say almost since it isn't as thick as the original one was, which means the sleeve that slides over the draft tube tends to tilt to the right a couple of degrees when under the tension of the height adjustment mechanism. This makes the left side of the wick higher than the right. In order to get the perfect 5/16" wick height all the way around the collar, it has to be placed in at the opposite angle as the sleeve. This means a lot of trial and error; partial assembly, measure, disassemble, re-position wick, repeat until the proper height is achieved. Once installed, it works great. The only other issue is where the wick is stitched together causes a slightly higher flame than the rest of the wick, which is an unavoidable situation. Adjusting the height until the yellow flame goes away at that spot means the rest of the wick is slightly lower than optimal. The replacement igniter is easy to change.
