I've only had this 24hrs but here are my thoughts . We live out in the country and we have what we call muck lands behind us. Muck is very fine black soil/dirt that onions get planted in. It's very rich soil, but it is very fine, finer than sand. When it's dry and windy, it blows all o wr the place. We call that a “muck storm”. I have been looking for some way to clean the muck out of our pool. This thing did the trick. The video speaks for itself. I did have to stop every few minutes to rinse the filter, but oh my God it worked so good. Can't speak on the longevity of this, but if it continues to work the way it did, I will be happy.
So far I am glad I bought this vacuum. I have a stock tank pool. It is 8 ft round. Last year I used a vacuum that attached to the garden hose but this year I wanted to get a battery powered one. This one has worked well. It picked up the fine stuff as well as leaves and bigger pieces of debris. I wouldn't use it to clean out a ton of leaves but it works well for daily cleaning. At first the debris screen can be kind of hard to unclamp to clean out but after use it has gotten much easier. I was also skeptical of cover that covers the plug in area but it has also done its job of keeping water out.
Simple to use but the reason for only 4 out of 5 stars, I see one MAJOR FLAW in the design that could ruin the entire device. The charger port only has a silicone push in plug cover, in the middle of using it, the (open charger port) tab, caught the edge of the pool and began to open it. If water were to get inside, I am sure the electronic components would become damaged and unusable. What I like best is I don't have to use a hose or water to make it work, it's recharging capability is extremely beneficial and the level of suction and cleaning capacity is very good. It is very easy to operate, clean and store.
This works well for our 14 foot round pool. It's easily picks up bugs, leaves and dirt at the bottom of the pool. It charges quickly and lasts long enough to clean the entire pool. The cover for the charging port has popped off while vacuuming. I was able to blow out the port and its charging. From now on I'll place some electric tape around it.
I can only see one possible future problem with this device the water proof rubber that supposed to block the charging port is really flimsy and easily comes off of the charging port, making it to where you have to wait a long time after using it to charge it again because you have to make sure it is completely dry before plugging in the charger
It's too small it doesn't pick up any small sticks or anything. Can't pick up the leaves pick up small debris algae on the bottom floor. I don't recommend it.
The filter and tube did not connect to the motor area where it's supposed to connect to. The vacuum part does work but low suction which might be good on a pool liner. The main issue was it didn't connect and hold tight. Kept pulling apart in the area that I stated above. I would not buy this product again o re recommend it.
This vacuum was not made for a pool it is way too small so it takes forever to vacuum a swimming pool! Therefore the battery don't even hold up to get half of the pool clean because you keep having to go over the same spot 3 times and then you also have to keep cleaning the filter every 4 swipes not counting it blowing all the algae and dirt back into the pool it's just really not worth it!
We used it once, worked great, thought I'd was a great value… we used it a second time and the plastic tube cracked and broke away from the pole and was completely useless and not fixable. Didn't keep the packaging because we thought it worked great. Now it feels like a waste of money.
I bought this because I needed to vacuum up algae. Well, this spits it all out of the side. It picked up leaves and everything else. Very disappointed with this
