A quick form of taking daily vitamins and ones that the entire family can take. The cherry, orange, and grape flavors are pretty decent too, although, the chalky, gritty texture is less desirable than gummies. I like that you only have to take one, not two, so great value for what you're getting, and very similar to brand name vitamins!
2 of my kids and myself have a genetic condition that makes absorbing nutrients really hard, so we have to rely on supplements to help keep us from deficiencies. Since we can't absorb nutrients the same as others we actually need to sometimes take 2-3x as much of a supplement than is recommended. (Our Dr oversees this) That can make things really expensive so these have been wonderful since they are so much more affordable. They also seem to work well since our labs came back in normal range or just ever so slightly lower, which is really good for our family.
My kids have been using these for years. my 13 year old doesn't want to switch to grown up vitamins because she likes them. They're a great price and they taste pretty good for a vitamin.
I found these Children Multi Vitamins several yrs. ago after figuring out that my body looses iron pretty fast. I was complaining to a former girlfriend that I couldn't figure out what was making me feel so sluggish, tired, & worn out most of the time. She suggested that I should add Iron to my diet or take Iron tablets. Well I had some Iron tablets that I had to take after a hip replacement. I tool them for a few days and quit because the iron was making it very "Hard" (pun intended) to have a BM. Well I went through this cycle of taking some, have issues, then quit for a few days & repeat. Then it came to me to take a multi vitamin with Iron in it. I was already taking B12, E, Calcium, Zinc so why not take a Multi. I looked at all the Major name brands but no Iron. Then while in WalMart I picked up a bottle of these children multi's and viola 18mg of iron. I take them daily, with a meal, and haven't had any more tired & sluggish days!!!
I have a hard time talking vitamins even during all my pregnancies, trying to take prenatal vitamins was always daunting. My OBGYN suggested these Equate Multivitamins for kids, (comparable to the name brand Flintstones.) This vitamin had everything the baby and I needed; plus they were chewable. I found I have so much more energy during the day, I continue to take them as well my whole family.
Due to a medical condition, I have to chew up. all at one tine in the morning, 4 of these vitimins a day. These taste better and chew up better than any other product I've tried. While you can get these in gummy form, I prefer these tablet-type. I recommend this product highly.
I’ve had multiple GI surgeries that make me at risk for anemia. These have iron plus everything else I need, and the chewable nature makes them easy to absorb all the vitamins. These are every bit as good as the name brand, maybe better. They’re easy to take, taste good, seem to work well according to my blood test results tracking nutrients. It’s a huge bonus to get a discount on them by buying the Equate version. These make it affordable for me to stay on top of my medical needs and I’m grateful Walmart keeps making these, as I can see myself taking them for life if they remain this good and this affordable!
Have you noticed how much sugar is in the vitamin gummies? I also like to be frugal, and the gummies usually have each kid take two gummies each day. If you're looking for cost effective and less sugar, I really like this option and have used it for years. The one downside is if your kids are used to having sweeter, more sugary treats and foods on a regular basis, your kids might not eat these. My kids can tolerate them, but I can tell they appreciate them much more when they're not having a bunch of treats and candy all the time. They're kind of chalky. They appreciate having them, though. I've had a couple of the vitamins, and they're easier for me to have if I just let them sit in my tongue and I kind of suck on then, rather than chewing up the vitamin.
These things are NASTY. My kids are famously not picky, but even they gag trying to eat these. The fake grape flavor is particularly awful, and I have been soldiering through one per day myself because even my kiddos won't touch them. And, ugh, it is only my desire to not waste that is allowing me to deal with it. They barely tolerate the other two flavors-- but literally cried when they realized I had purchased *TWO* containers of the Equate brand. My middle child asked if she could learn to swallow my giant adult multivitamins rather than having to eat these. I told her it was okay-- but that's how much she wanted to avoid these things. For now, I am eating all the purples and they are working through the other colors. We seem to be getting nutrients out of them-- no canker sores or shin splints when we take them-- but ugh! It's really, really miserable. Please don't buy these.
Between the price and the contents being comparable to Flintstones vitamins these seemed like a great deal. However, the taste and texture completely missed the mark! They are very hard and chalky, even more so than other chewable vitamins. The tase starts out super sweet, not in a good way, and morphs into a nasty bitter taste the more you chew. That taste is hard to get out of your mouth. My poor 5 year old asked me to please not get these again.
