Equate Nighttime Sleep-Aid Doxylamine Succinate 25mg Tablets, 32 Count, Compare to Unisom® Sleep Tabs® Active Ingredient

12-11-2025 [My experience] I am a workaholic and sleeping at times is hard for me to do. So, I wanted to buy a low-cost sleep aid which is why I tried this Equate Nighttime Sleep-Aid Doxylamine Succinate 25mg Tablets, 32 Count, so I took 1 tablet. The effect is immediate within 7 minutes of taking this 1 tablet, of course, I continue to work. However, after taking this, I can hear the "duet of Mr. and Mrs. Sandman and the kids, and within 10 minutes after this, I was in "La, La, Land". I slept soundly for 6 hrs. or so when I woke up on my own accord. The side effects, drowsiness even after waking up for 10 minutes, even washing my face, I still feel sleepy. Well, is because it could be the residual effects of taking this sleep aid for the first time. Without sleep-aid, I would normally sleep for 4 hours and go about my daily tasks thereafter. However, after taking this 1 tablet, I slept for 6 hours. The following side effects is this. Drowsiness, partial headache, scale of 2, tingly on joints, including hands %26 feet, first time I felt this. If you sat down for a few minutes, you would fall asleep so, I took half the tablet. The effect is about 20 minutes; I can hear the duet of Mr. and Mrs. Sandman and kids. Slept for 7 hours. "D'oh!", a famous Omar Simpsons expression of realization. After taking half the tablet, my daily tasks remain the same. However, you can still feel a little drowsy but fades after slapping myself or washing my face with a cold water. Final review. This sleep aid can become addictive if you are not careful, and if you stick to the normal dosage of 1 or half a pill you will be ok, if you take more, you'll wake up next week, just kidding...of course this is not advisable. Allow yourself to fully wake up when driving or operating machinery, for this is crucial and dangerous. Only take sleep aid if you have difficulty sleeping. slowly adapt without using this, by playing soft slow music as you sleep, and don't forget to set your alarm clock to wake up, otherwise it's going to be a D'oh!..i'm late for work.... Taking this will absolutely affect your sleeping pattern but will help you sleep if you are having a hard time sleeping. Use only the desired dosage of 1 tablet or half the dosage, which I took in reference for this review. My experience may be different from you, but if you decide to buy this, please use caution and in moderation, and only if you need it to sleep. If you feel other side effects that's not for your liking, discontinue use. Would I recommend this, of course, however, use with caution and follow the bottle instructions. Don't mix alcohol of any kind and then take this...the side effect may be life threatening. However, untested for me, so don't start with that ok. So, take this sleep-aid in moderation and only if you are having difficult time sleeping and dream a wonderful dream.

Small pill, easy to swallow, one will take me to 3:30 or so but two will get me to 6:30 or 7:00 am. No noticeable hangover or unpleasant side effects. I've been using this OTC drug for about 5 years. It's reasonably priced but may go up soon like everything else.

When I need help getting to sleep, these are the only sleep aids that I use. I have no trouble getting to sleep and I sleep through the night. With some other kinds I would wake up in the middle of the night and have trouble falling back to sleep, which is frustrating and defeats the purpose of a sleep aid. These work very well for me.

I use a half of these at night as recommended my medical provider to decrease allergies that were leading to constant sinus infections all year long. No issues now with the sinus infections and helps me fall back to sleep easier. 1 tablet is way too strong unless you take in 12 or more hours before you need to get up. The biggest issue is the top seems like a child safety one but it will open. If these fall out, they easily crush or turn to mush if wet.

Took for many years just a half of this tabs about an hour before bed. Helped wonderful to fall quick asleep and stay asleep. My Dr wanted me to stop them now and prescribed me something , bc some studies show that Doxylamine is linked to dementia . So I listened to my Dr and with a heavy heart I stopped using the Doxy. I do recommend them though , for short term help , for people who do well with this ingredient . This ingredient is also in the Unisom Sleep aid. Now if you get the Unisom , be aware they have tabs and capsules. Both have a different active ingredient. The Unisom tabs also have the Doxilamine. I know this , bc years ago I bought Unisom, until I found the Equate with the great price. Much cheaper and made in Italy.

This is the only sleep med that would actually get me to sleep and stay asleep longer without waking up during the night as often. The added bonus- it's not expensive. Not all Walmarts stock it- usually found at the Supercenters. Be aware there are two kinds: doxylamine succinate and doxylamine diphenhydramine. I use the one with succinate as diphenhydramine, otherwise known as Benadryl, wires me that I cannot get to sleep.

I've used this for years because other products that have diphenhydramine ( which is many) have never worked well. Even the brand names and even melatonin. Doloxamine lets me go to sleep in about a half hour after taking it and if I need to wake up I can.

This rating was hard for me because some people would probably rate higher - the rating was due to my negligence not reading the exclusions on who should take - I didn't and had to pitch - never used. So my rating is due to me - not the product - read the label before ordering!

Overall, the item works as described but after a few weeks of using it, it has started to squeak, which doesn't help when I'm using this in an office setting. I use it 3x a day each session a 30 minute sessions Monday through Friday. I do like how it switches direction every 5 minutes on the auto settings.

Two tiny little pills did not help me go to sleep. It's a small bottle but it's still looks like a little bit on the bottom as far as medicine. I got Benadryl tiny pink pills 50 mg which is the same medicine that is in Z quill. Get the Zequel with 10% alcohol and that works for me.
