I would like to say that in the years I have used many Tampers and believe it or not there are huge differences in many of them. This Fiskars Tamper has a a nice sized grip area and what I thought at 1st was going to be a weakness was the smooth hand hold area whereas I am use to having a grip area but as I used it I realized that I had a good grip but it allowed my hands to slide just ever so much when I impacted the ground and that stopped the jolting on my shoulders and allowed me to tamp down many many areas where I was putting in crushed gravel without taking a break due to irritation. The weight is less than one of my old ones that nobody likes to use and is about on par with my other. It is very comfortable to handle and use and will be using it soon for a 400' area soon and know that this will make it much nice than normal. I am actually surprised I found this better overall as I had thought 'Fiskars" the scissor people? (my wife sews a lot) but the reality is they have breached the gap into other areas and for those that have old ones just go try it at the store. For those that are using it around the garden you will be happy if you need to pack down some areas as it won't jolt you. I am very impressed.

This is the best tool to have around the house. We used this thumper to repair the pavement in front of the garage. The asphalt began to brake up and started causing dips in the entry of the garage. It made the repairs very easy and no mess to deal with. By using this tool you didn't have to your hands dirty too much. The thumper does all the work and gives you a professional finish.

Fiskars Steel 8 Tamper is a heavy duty tool that I needed at my home. It is greatly weighted which helped with leveling out portions of my yard and driveway. I was able to get a smoother flatter surface in my yard after some tires tore it up during a rain storm. I really like that it has a coated handle and hasn’t given my hands blisters.

I don't really have much of a use for a Tamper, but I do love Fiskar tools. I find them to be very attractive, well built, and sturdy. I don't know if they are strong enough for commercial use, but I find them to be awesome for residential and light use. Quality made, heavy and sturdy and ships easily.

This is a quality built, heavy duty tool for leveling, gardening and preparing the ground for planting, walkway projects and leveling for outdoor projects. It is a solid, compact tool and I don't want to say it is a heavy tool. It is a firmly weighted tool for the work you need to accomplish.Fiskars Steel 8 Tamper is coming in handy for my stone walkway project and came at a perfect time because of the social distancing COVID-19 guidelines and having to stay at home. This tamper is built for rugged work and it is very durable so, it should take a beating and last a long time. There is a rubber grip at the top to give you the firm support you need for your hands. I can't say enough about this tampering tool and am pleased that I received, in my opinion, a precision tool to do what needs to be done effectively in a timely manner. As I said, it is a compact tool. If it were any larger, the bottom tampering square would be too heavy and too awkward to handle. A perfect size and a perfect tool to work with. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
