Fiskars Big Grip Garden Knife (70796935J)

When I bought this, I was looking for a simple tool to help with pulling weeds. I couldn't find what I wanted, and this was the closest they had in stock. The price is great for the item. I have fibromyalgia, and was afraid that the tool might become too heavy after a few minutes of use. It is sharp, so I don't have to use a lot of pressure, even when the ground is dry. My hands, arms, & neck don't get tired/sore. I wasn't sure what to do with the serrated edge, but I found out quick enough--it's great for slicing through the weeds & grass at the edge of the sidewalk, or edge of my flower bed. The soft, oversize handle is also lightweight. I'd recommend this to anyone.

this is one of the best all around tool for gardening, I was so impressed with it that I also bought one for my daughter and one for my daughter in law.

Quality has diminished over the years. I had one last for years. I brought a 2nd and it broke immediately, I replaced it on warranty at the retailer and that one broke immediately. Its at the point now where its not worth my time to get the free replacement. I MAY consider one of the other similar hori hori products.

I have had several of this knife and give it heavy use. It stands up. But the knife I received this time soon broke where the handle meets the blade. Don't know if the knives are made weaker, but the knife I was sent was a poor excuse for what I expect from a Fiskar knife. I reported it and was never contacted.

I love this item. I used it today and the ease of getting weeds or deep rooted plants was awesome. You can slice the top layer of soil withe the saw like edge or the knife edge. Works great.

I've been using this tool for two years and it is still as sharp and serviceable as it was when it was new. Great for loosening hard, clay-type soil around weed for removal by the root. This tool is great, and I don't even like gardening.

The first use was a weeder. It failed. Comfortable grip made pushing it into soil very easy. Four thrusts around a thistle to loosen it and a push to the side to lever it out, The blade bent. No better than a bargain basement trowel. The first Fiskars product to really disappoint me!

This is my primary garden tool for digging, planting,and weeding in the garden and flower beds. Also for cutting twine and garden produce off the plant or tree. Looks like a large frontier knife. It is made with a serrated side and smooth side that could be sharpened by the owner. There is a useful sharpened notch on the pointed end. Comfortable handle for my smaller hands. My first one was part of a garden tool gift set. It broke when I was digging out a tough shrub root. I was lost until I replaced it. I suppose it would be handy for camping and fishing too.

This tool is wonderful. A friend in a garden club gave me one and when I showed it to other gardening friends, all 10 asked me to get one for them. It digs out all kinds of weeds with ease in wet or super hard soil. The blades will cut small underground roots from bushes and even use to clean up edges and borders.

This tool is very sturdy and very well made. The grip is easy on the hands. I have used it in the garden and to dig items I have located with my metal detector.
