Flowtron BF-190 40W Replacement UV Bulb 1-Pack for BK-40 Bug Zapper Insect Killer Light Tube

I've seen alot of people question whether this bulb is compatible with the FlowTron Model 14044 (AKA: Flowtron Programmable Ultimate Insect Killer, 1 Acre). I called Flowtron and they said it is the same size/shape/connector as the bulb that came with the unit: BF-215 (Black/UV light)... The only difference is that this BF-190 (white) allows all light to escape whereas the BF-215 filters all light except the black/UV light. When comparing these two bulbs side by side there is no differences other than the color. This works great. It's only been about a week, so, I'm still getting used to the brightness because it's been a few years since I had a white bulb in my bug killer: it really brightens up the back-yard at night! The Black light was less obtrusive, but, my experience with the white bulb is that it attracts more insects.

The product came well packaged with adequate instructions. The bulb fit in the bug zapper assembly very easily. It works fine emitting a very bright light. Everything about this bulb is fine except the price. I believe it was a bit too expensive.....

I have only had my Flowtron Bug Zapper for about a year now. I hung it outside and plugged it about about 1.5 months ago. Original bulb burned out 2 weeks ago. Nobody locally, (Clarksville, TN), carried them in store. Managed to find online at Walmart.com, and the price was extremely reasonable. Wal-Mart does not carry Flowtron products in any of their stores, (Only Stinger), but they do carry them online.

product is great but packaging left a lot to be desired....don't know if one of the bulbs will work or not. Four bulbs were left to roll around at will in a huge box with very little packing material.

I had a Flowtron for ten years. It worked great. The bulbs lasted three years (on a six hour timer). Finally I had trouble finding replacement bulbs, so I bought a Stinger UV40 (the bulbs were in stock at several stores). Mid way through the second year the Stinger stopped working. I got a new bulb, but it still didn't work. Found my ten year old Flowtron in the garage and tested both Stinger bulbs (both turned on, but sparks would arch like a Dr. Frankenstein machine). The Stinger bulb is also too long (stuck out the bottom of the Flowtron). I went online and found these Flowtron bulbs. I ordered two (one as a spare) and my Flowtron is working like new. I stuck the Stinger in the garage, but will likely throw it out. The online ratings of the Stinger are very poor (many don't last a year).

This is the exact replacement for the BK-40D Flowtron Insect Killer. Easy to install and work immediately.

Works well enough killing bugs on my Flowtron bug zapper. Original bulb didn't last through the summer last year so I bought 2 for replacement. I hope these last a little longer since they are a little pricey for all they are.

The bulb is already malfunctioning, and it has only been installed in the bug killer a couple of weeks. I ordered a new bulb starter from the bug killer company thinking it couldn't be the bulb already, but it was.
