[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lightweight and sharp machete. Love how it came with a holder. My husband was able to easily cut through weeds and small branches in our backyard. I know this machete will be very handy for camping as well! Can't wait to bring it along our next camping trip!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gerber Gator Machete is amazing! The handle grip was so comfortable and made it easier to hold and control. The design is phenomenal with a straight sharp edge and a serrated edge so you use it for a multitude of things from cutting branches or pruning small limbs or whatever else around the yard or camping!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very practical to use and can be taken on the go. Comes with a protective case and fits anywhere. Sturdy, easy to wipe off and very sharp. Used this to cut off small tree limbs and finished quickly. Will be buying more products from this brand!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Gerber Gear Machete is super solid. Very light weight, also a perfect size for a machete. Super easy to use and is super effective. The case it comes with is very handy as well. Worked perfectly for cutting some branches off the trees! Would 100% recommend if you need one.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this new Jr machete, I love the size and portability of it. Made well, strong, well built. It is small enough to take anywhere and strong enough to do most tasks. Love the belt buckle pouch it came with.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When first looking at this I was thinking this thing won't last a day, but to my surprise it was very well made. I really like that you can hook the sheath up to your belt for easy carrying. Both the blade and saw are very sharp so handle with care. The handle fits my hand perfectly for a comfortable grip. You can chop small trees and branches with the blade side or for something a little more stubborn you can use the saw side both worked really well. I used it to trim up my Palm trees and some overgrowth on my fence. Still have a way to go but this Gerber Machete Jr worked great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I really like the Gator Machete Jr. it’s a really convenient size and weight so I can easily carry it around. Balance-wise, this machete is pretty blade-heavy, which helps with making chopping swings feel natural. The handle itself is very lightweight and has a good ergonomic feel and a very grippy rubber. I’ve tried both the blade and the saw and both seem reasonably sharp and made quick work of the wooded vines and fallen tree limbs around my property. I do have a couple gripes on the specific design though! One is the safety rope. It just kind of loosely loops into the handle. While the design of the handle seems to be able to catch the rope to prevent slipping, it would be nice to be able to cinch it down so it feels more secure. One nitpick I do have as well is that the saw blade extends a bit closer to the tip of the blade than I would like. I used the machete to split some branches to help them light more easily, and I like being able to secure both ends of the blade to push down. With the saw teeth so close to the end the amount of space I can use to grip the end of the blade is pretty small! Just a minor concern based on how I specifically would like to use the machete! The sheath is quite nice as well, although as a lefty it’s a bit inconvenient if I want to wear it on my belt. It would be great to see a more ambidextrous design since the machete itself is ambidextrous!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I expected this to be better then what it was. I feel like it was sharp but cutting a smaller limb it took more effort than I expected. Overall it cuts but would only be good for small limbs. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
Bought this to clear some brush and small trees (under 2 inch diameter) at local trails. I’ve owned Gerber knives in the past and they were of good quality (though this was when they were actually made in the USA). Figured this would do the trick. Seemed pretty solid out of the package. Then I went to use it. The saw backside isn’t very good, so I gave a couple of whacks at a small downed tree with the blade side. I was completely taken by surprise as the handle broke off and the blade flipped back at me (I fortunately was not injured). Some genius apparently designed a machete with a completely plastic handle. Not metal wrapped in plastic, but a blade that ends right at the beginning of the handle and is “fastened” with plastic pins to a fully plastic handle. I don’t even know what to say about that. This might be safe or effective if all you want to do is cut shrubbery or light bushes. But someone is going to get hurt using this like you would expect an actual machete to be able to be used… Another brand that used to be worth bothering with forgoing their quality past to save what…? $0.50 worth of metal to continue the blade into the handle area? Garbage. I’d give it zero stars if I could.
