Sturdy post! I set mine in cement but I am sure it would work fine if it was pushed into solid earth. The instructions were good and assembly was easy. The only complaints I have are the scrolls they are plastic and tend to break easily. At this point it is a very good mailbox post for a small mailbox and very much worth the price.

This is great quality, sturdy, durable and easy to put together. All pieces needed are included (except mailbox). The design is simple but nice, definitely recommend it.

have been needing to replace my mail box as well as the post. I wanted to wait a couple months after receiving my Gibralter post to ensure I posted an accurate review of the product. My slightly younger sister and I (yes, two women) easily placed the new mailbox post in the open hole where the old one was. We packed down a little extra dirt around any open spots and packed it in firmly, so the mailbox post would stand durably. I know Autumn/ Winter in Ohio brings crazy weather, so I feel I can accurately review this mailbox post. We have had one night that dropped below 30 degrees, so we experienced our first dew morning. We have had strong enough winds to down power lines. The post seemed to wiggle a tiny bit, but e also had heavy rain on and off for a week, and the ground was sloppy wet. However, when the ground dried up- the mailbox post seemed to be sturdy as ever. The decorative scroll design did add flair. However, to be critically honest, the decorations ere flimsy and easily snapped off. They were very easy to add, but also too easy for the weather to snap off. I'm not familiar with Gibralter; but I have purchased a Gibralter mailbox. The weather is only going to get more harsh, so I may update this review in a few months. The instructions were very simple just in case you can't figure it out. I really like the rounded look. I actually think the new mailbox set up adds to the look in the front of our house. I'm interested in perusing the Gibralter accessories. This was an excellent choice and yes, I would and have recommend it (my neighbors).

The item came from UPS and with the box torn up like you see. As a Wal-Mart spark reviewer, I went ahead and assembled what was left in the box. It was missing the bottom post. The instructions were a little vague, but easy enough to figure out.being a nitpicker, I would have liked to have seen lock washers for the nuts,but probably are not needed. Rather sturdy after constructed and would probably give years of service. For the price a nice buy.

I read a review saying this mail post was flimsy and it is not BUT I thought it was weird to set up. You screw all the parts together with a bolt but you can definitely put it together firmly, it is just a little weird to put together. I expected thin flimsy metal pieces but they are firm. You just have to make the screws fit through one of the many different holes in the pieces. Looks pretty good but the scroll swirls are flimsy but those are just for decoration. I also use cement for the post because mailboxes can lean and fall overtime and it is still tall at 45"high when burried about to the bottom cinched part.

I received this product as part of the Spark Reviewer Program for my honest evaluation. I received the mailbox post a few weeks ago. Full disclosure, I am not actually using it for my mailbox; I'm using it to hold a bird feeder in my backyard. As the name says, the post is made of steel. When I first received it, I was a little disappointed in it because it did not appear to be very sturdy. The pole comes in 2 pieces and is less than 2 inches wide. I was afraid that it would be too flimsy to hold my bird seed trays. But I was very surprised after I had it assembled and installed because it was very sturdy. I think it will last a long time. It came together easily enough using the provided directions. I did not install into concrete. I stuck it into one of my large/deep flower beds and it's working great. And it looks nice. The scrolls on either side are very attractive and make nice perches for the birds that visit. I made the bird seed tray out of two round shallow metal pans. The first pan is 'permanently' attached to the pole using the mounting hardware provided and the other sits in the first pan and is removable for cleaning. The birds love it. They hang out on the top and on the scrolls on the pole. I may make another setup for a water bath for them! I feel that this would be a good mailbox pole as well. It is very sturdy after it is put together. I would recommend this to friends.

Missing few screws and nuts to tie the mailbox frame onto mailbox. And the hollow steel may not be as durable as other mailbox post. Price is reasonable. Easy to set up. However, need to fill the ground with cement which may be difficult to remove if need to remove/replace with another mailbox post.

I was concerned that this wouldn't be too sturdy, I had a thick wooden post and this seemed very thin, however it is very nice and sturdy. We added some concrete first then we added the post while it dried. It is very sturdy now, it was easy to put together and it comes with instructions to put together and on how to add the mailbox on top. The only thing I don't really like is that the little design at the top is made of plastic, I just hope it lasts a while. But other than that the rest of the post is made out of steel and I love the design and the black color. The black can match anything but I like that it particularly matches my window frames and door around my house. It looks more modern and adds a nice look to the front of the house.

I obtained this product as a post for my mother's, mailbox. It's gorgeous and easy to assemble. I only wish it was a little thicker. I only have 70% confidence that it will hold up. My mother loves it.

Mailbox Post looks very nice and decorative but is light duty, would be great for a Subdivision but not in the country where snowplows plow next to it. I would recommend it to a friend that lives in Town or a Subdivision. I will give the item Thumbs up.
