Cheaper and better than the Gym

Anonymous May 17, 2014

I love this pull up bar, I use it about 5 times a day and I use 2 different positions on the bar each day for well rounded upper body workouts that take almost no time to accomplish. I also really appreciate the booklet with each workout position, very useful. Only downside, (which I personally dont care about) is the sit up use which doesnt really work unless your shoe size is 12+ because theres no way to hook your toes on the bar.

Cheap, functional, nice. Liked it very much. The only downside is that it cannot fit thick (5.5in or more of depth) doors.

Works great!

Jeff November 15, 2025

Works great! I prefer this particular model because the bar is elevated above the door frame so it easier to keep your feet from touching the floor.

Extra Height Works

nycc58 May 11, 2014

First the bad. The bolts and nuts are not the best. The bolts were too long for the caps and the caps came right off. It would be better to have rubber slip on caps for ALL the bolt ends. Do not fully tighten nuts until fully assembled. There is some flex, but if everything is tightened after assembly this is minimized and seems secure. The good is the extra heights works. There are three height settings, although I assume most will be able to use the highest except in some odd door jam/ceiling situations. I had another brand with a straight bar and always had to bend my knees so much, it never seemed to work really well. I am 5'8", 170 lbs and now I can do full range chin ups and feel the stretch in my back.

Basics

GREGORY September 21, 2025

I have only 1 complaint so far. I was missing 2 washers, luckily I already had the older style pull-up bar so I took 2 from it. So far it works sturdily.

Great AFTER difficult assembly

Ineza April 15, 2026

its great once you get it put together but the tools provided were garbage and only stripped the bolts. if you use your own tools it is doable but it proved extremely difficult at first. LOVE it once it is up. strong and does not damage walls or door. assembly is just terrible. hardware does not match tools. 🔩 ≠ 🔧

Bad foam

Jonathan April 22, 2026

I actually like this pull-up bar overall. It’s easy to set up, feels sturdy, and fits my door frame well. For basic workouts, it does what it’s supposed to do. However, I ran into a pretty big issue with the foam padding. After very light use, the foam on the contact points started splitting open. Once that happened, it exposed the metal underneath, which ended up scuffing and damaging my door trim, I stopped using it as soon as I heard the contact. (see photos). That’s my only real complaint. The foam is supposed to protect your door frame, and when it fails this quickly, it kind of defeats the purpose.

One of the red bars was missing a hole where a screw was suppose to go through. I was unable to even assemble it.
