Google Nest Learning Thermostat- 3rd Generation- Mirror Black

It has an app you need to download onto your smartphone to walk through installation. This was useful, but basic in description. We ended up looking up more how-to videos on YouTube to understand what all our wires were (we had more wires than what the Google Nest needed). After concluding that it was okay that the Google Nest didn't need the 2 wires (they were outside temperature sensors on our Trane), we finished the installation and tested it out. Its been a week and it works well. The app uses the location set on the Nest to determine outdoor temps. We also still went to YouTube to find more about the features to control the Nest with your smartphone as well as the interface itself ( like the Farsight technology and how to set a schedule). The learning system requires you to download and use Google Home app, and then it monitors when you leave and come back home (it tracks the location of your smartphone). We opted to not use that option, though and rely on the programmed schedule instead.

It took a little longer than I expected to install, I had a little help from my brother-in-law, first time for him to. Had a little wiring problem, but it told me what the problem was, went to the web site looked at the pictures and fixed the problem. Worked great. We have a two story house and the thermostat is upstairs, what a dream now, I can sit at the kitchen table and adjust with my laptop. This will be great when we go away on trips.

So far so good. Installation was a bit challenging, but we got it done. Enjoy being able to set it on "Eco" when we are away from home, and being able to turn it on remotely. Also, not having to get out of bed to adjust the thermostat. It can easily been done on your phone.

I just ordered this online Thanksgiving morning and it was on my doorstep Friday! I installed it myself and it could not have been easier. Setup was also a breeze! I've only had it a couple days so I can't say yet about energy savings but I bought it on sale at Sams, and Nicor and ComEd both have rebates until the end of December so my out of pocket cost for The Nest is $50! I'm a happy lady!

This is my second NEST thermostat. I have one upstairs and one down. I love the online features, simplicity of install and that they both just worked out of the box the first time. No need to call for help. Took about 15 min from start to finish.

We had a nest and our home was hit by lightning so we lost it. Replaced it immediately because we love the convenience and energy savings of it so much.

This is my second Nest and I cannot recommend it enough. It learns your behaviors and warms or cools your house appropriately. Easy to install and it works great.

This unit is precise temperature control. Digital and easily managed from your chosen smart device or the wall unit. Simple installation includes the tool in the box.

We bought this 4 months ago. The internal battery failed to charge completly. After a short power failure the unit went completly dead. pulled the unit and plugged in computer for usb charging. Failed to fully charge. Works but no wifi because low battery.

I wish we would have known it doesn’t fit all furnaces before we ordered ! We have a brand new house and didn’t realize that it wouldn’t work . So know we have to take the time to return it . Saddened that we thought we had ordered a product to assist us with our needs , turns out it just complicated matters
