I bought this pot for two main purposes: 1) to make large batches of stock for canning, and 2) to water-bath can pint jars. It looks like it will serve both purposes admirably. It is large enough to steam puddings and custards. I might even learn to make tamales! I can add some vinegar to the water bath when canning to avoid lime scale deposits, which I could not do with my aluminium pressure canner, as it would etch the surface. The rack is to be used holes side up for steaming. The surface of the pot is impervious, which makes cleaning it a matter of a little soaking and a touch of scrubbing. Don't bang on the edge with utensils, and don't drop the pot on a hard surface or it will chip and expose the metal core. The finish is a vitreous glaze, which is somewhat fragile; treated with respect, it will last a lifetime.
I use this pot to make my greens for Thanksgiving. They turned out very great. They cooked in a timely fashion, and almost seemed as if the greens were cooked in a steamer or i use this pot to make my greens for Thanksgiving. They turned out very great. They cooked in a timely fashion, and almost seemed as if the greens were cooked in a steamer or a Insta pot. I love the quality of this part i love the quality of this pot would recommend it to anybody..
good size, sturdy. Use with steamer or without. Seems durable and it is not lightweight, but not heavy so it is easy to carry. These kinds of enameled pots, especially from this brand, are known to last for years, so I hope they have kept up with the quality. I especially like that it doesnt leech chemicals into your food, like teflon and other non-stick surfaces, nor releases heavy metals like aluminum which contribute to alzheimer's disease.
The quality, packaging and speed of delivery was exactly how I expected. However it is available much cheaper on other websites. I ordered from Walmart because of my comfort and trust with Walmart
Purchased this to steam blue crabs. Had a similar steamer before but this product was of much better quality. Great purchase.
I grabbed 2 of these to replace my older set. when I got home and took off the wrapping I saw the porcelain was already chipped. Now I have to return it and hope another is in stock. Besides that I'm sure its a good stock pot. The 2nd one is fine with no blemishes, scratches, etc. Had both arrived in that condition I'd give 5 stars.
The pot is very nice. I just wish the people that packaged it used bubble wrap or some type of cushion in the box with it, no matter what kind of item it is. Things can still be damaged. The pot lid was gouged and black chips were in the bottom of the box. Evidently the box was dropped.
Great quality for the price. I would have rated a 5 but the 12x6 inch sticker on the front of the pot was put on with a glue that makes it next to impossible to get off.
My item was delivered to the wrong address. It had been used, the inside bottom had stuff burned on it. The product wasn't even packaged, it was a gift for someone. I don't recommend ordering items like this online after my experience with this purchase. I also tried taking it to an actual store to exchange it for the same exact product, and that was also a hassle. The store refused to exchange it.
packed a damaged item and shipped to me pics below. damaged on inside and out
