makes best tasting chocolate milk anywhere especially of you mix a bit glass and let it sit in the fridge for 3-5 days (stirring occasionally) uncovered . I like that is doesnt mix up completely - you get those crunchy bit of the top and thats even better
This product is definitely amazing. Such a good taste, The flavor, is like strong chocolate. Also, the price is good that's why I bought it. The differential and plus, is because of the price. When I paid I was not 100% sure about the product, I was like " to good to be true". But I was wrong. This chocolate drink mix, it's been a while since the last time a had such a good product. Congratulations to Great Value!!!
it was such a relief to finally find a chocolate milk mix in a powder that wasn't Nesquik! Great Value had a brand a few years ago they took it off the market and why I don't know. I'm leaving this review for the fact that I do like the item very much! I'm hoping that they decide to keep it on shelf! I won't buy any other kind of chocolate milk mix. I like the powder form made with granulated sugar and Coco. everybody has their pic for chocolate milk. I don't know why the simplest of the forms can be so difficult to find. it's not made of water or any other supplement liquid form to dilute your milk down. it's chocolate not a brand of chocolate. Nesquik is a brand with its own flavor. liquid forms dilute your milk with liquids of whatever syrups and flavors water and whatever to make a messy sticky nozzle and drizzle down the side where someone fails to clean up after themselves when there enjoying fixing what they want. yeah I'm sorry I've been there and done that. but I'm starting to find it hard to find this item in the store therefore I'm on my app looking to make the purchase and thought I would leave a review. it doesn't take up much shelf space and I notice plenty of items that I don't use that could be taken out to leave the item that I do. Does anyone realize there's not another substitute for powdered chocolate milk mix. Now you have to keep one! and I'm going to fill everyone in that Nesquik is not a chocolate milk mix! Nesquik is Nesquik! it's not chocolate milk mix! and there's not another substitute on the Shelf in the stores for chocolate milk mix. not in a powder. you don't see anyone making cakes with squeeze chocolate do you? Not even pudding. why would i want squeeze chocolate flavor in my milk. cocoa and sugar is what makes milk chocolate milk. straight up Can't Get simpler than that and it's realest of forms.
12 oz more than the large container Nesquik, but it's not more really, just heavier. Nesquik is lighter powder, kinda like sand, here and there, the Walmart brand on the other hand is "cement-ish", with large sugar pieces. It's not a bad thing though, just different. The Walmart brand is more crispy, has a stronger, more "chocolaty" and kinda baked taste. I really like it. Color: - Darker than Nesquik. I tested it in milk, it tastes nice, but the sugar gets separated and gets on the bottom of the glass. So, if you drink the cocoa, you get a significant amount of pure sugar in your glass. I guess I just wouldn't eat that. However, this chocolate powder is pretty excellent in Malt-O-Meal Coco Wheats Breakfast Cereal / samolina. I guess I prefer the Great Value over Nesquik. I would say it's just slightly cheaper, but I guess I'll but it for Coco Wheats breakfast, and I buy Nesquik for making chocolate milk. I rate it 4/5 stars. It gets my seal of approval.
I bought this product thinking that it was close to what I use, which is ovaltine. It is not. It is more like nesquik or pure cocoa powder. I also taste sugar that I can chew and crunch between my teeth. I did look through the ingredients and vitamins on this product and compared to ovaltine. This one has 4 vitamins. Ovaltine has 13 more. When my youngest wasn't eating anything and all he wanted was chocolate milk, this is what I used and finally took him to the doctor about it. The doctor said this was the best thing you could use for any person as far as vitamins and nutrients. I use 2 % milk. I have actually come to love the taste of Ovaltine. As well as my kids and husband. This one doesn't mix well or taste good. That's $7 gone. This product is also much more fattening than Ovaltine. Oh and nesquick is in the same category as this one. terrible but bearable...
Honestly the price is great but tried to switch this out with ovaltine and my daughter will not touch it. The container that i got has a strong cinnamon taste over powering the chocolate. Not a bad product just not for someone that doesnt particularly care for cinnamon. Doesnt seem to mix well with cold milk, not sure why. If you are looking at this to replace ovaltine it won't happen but not a bad product
The first time my husband bought this for me, it was great. Unlike most people, I am happy that it doesn't mix well. I actually enjoy using a straw and eating the mix that's on the top. Then he bought the next one and it sank in the milk and I had what I guess is cocoa. It's got little piece of bitter powder. For whatever reason, I get one that I enjoy and the next time I may end up with the cocoa powder. Also, they are different colors. The one I like is a lighter brown than the one with the cocoa powder balls...that one is very dark. With all of this info, I do recommend this product. But, I'd also like Walmart to do have better quality control, so I can buy this product and have it be the same each time. Preferably in the form I prefer. I'm attaching a photo of the two types of the same product. One is much darker, and has the cocoa powder remnants. While the other one is a lighter brown and tastes better to me, plus it lets me use my straw to snack on the mix on the top of my milk. I know this all seems odd. But, I'm just me... enjoying the mix that doesn't have bitter unsweetened cocoa powder remnants in it.
This is why there is no ingredient (label) list given in product description. Contains( copied from container label): Sugar, Cocoa**Processed with Alkali), Salt, ARTIFICIAL chocolate flavor, Corn Starch, Anhydrous Dextrose( a synthesized chemical sweetener!!), Silicone Dioxide, Water,PROPYLENE GLYCOL( a synthetic antifreeze!!), Corn Syrup (high fructose?!!), Caramel Color(an artificial dye!!),Glycerin(sugar alcohol or polyol), Salt, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Triacetin( a TRIGLYCERIDE of glycol !!), Vanillin Powder......
Was previously a 5-star product, up through Feb of 2022 - but then the container changed from a milky-clear to a solid white.. and the ingredients changed. Not what's written on the label, that hasn't changed, but now there is CINNAMON in this. I can smell the cinnamon, I can taste the cinnamon. It is like the flavor of the inside of a "pecan spinwheel" but with chocolate added. I know some people like cinnamon in their chocolate and if you do, you'll probably REALLY like this. The old version was surprisingly tasty, and I'm sad that it changed. I don't like Nesquik or Hersheys, the only other chocolate milk mix I like is Carnation Malted Chocolate and it is so much more expensive and so hard to find!
I bought this for my son who loves chocolate milk and I thought it was a great price for the size. It IMMEDIATELY smelled of chemicals when I opened it and the smell never went away. My son didn't like it. He said it tasted funny and it NEVER fully dissolved. It always had floating chunks. We didn't even use a quarter of the container before we threw it away. Completely disappointed and would never recommend this to anyone.
