These don't take away from real fresh mushrooms, but they seem to be the 1st next best thing when you don't have fresh one @ hand or the fresh ones don't appear fresh!! Making a frozen pizza %26 in need of more frozen mushrooms? Or making a gravy %26 in need of some mushrooms? or last minute change in cooking %26 in need of mushrooms? These frozen mushrooms have saved my dinners many times cuz I always have a frozen pack on hand!! I find the quality %26 convenience as we did can or jar mushrooms did/do! Many times I've pulled out a frozen pizza out of the box %26 cant find many mushrooms on it or have a change in taste %26 want to add mushroom s!! I just take the frozen out %26 gently remove the looser oness %26 add to pizza %26 they cook evenly!! I've done similar but defrost 1st for gravies that need mushrooms but the store ones were not very good looking!!
I used to have these frozen mushrooms on hand all the time. I love mushrooms, and I love to cook. Sometimes I just don’t have fresh mushrooms at hand, so I’m going to start keeping some in the freezer again. when I make soups and stews and use the frozen mushrooms, you can’t tell the difference from fresh.
I cooked them in my oven with olive oil and a little seasoning. The texture is so smooth they almost melt in your mouth. I find mushrooms to be a comfort food because I placed the baked mushrooms after I drain the oil from them in my egg white omelet. Yummy with some melted cheese. There is no style.
I like adding these to recipes when I want mushrooms. I can add them straight from the bag, or thaw and chop, or thaw and gently squeeze in a paper towel to prevent added moisture to the recipes. I was surprised at the light color. This is a better alternative to sliced fresh mushrooms that often get too old in my refrigerator and have to be dumped. In this way, the frozen mushrooms save me money, and I don't have to use the whole bag at once.
Upon cooking nets a bit more than the jar of sliced, however the taste is so much better. Can cook as long as I want. I usually dont cook too long as the liquid in pan is not salty like liquid in jar %26 adds wonderful flavor to whatever I am preparing, especially sauces %26 gravies. So glad I tried them
Easy to use, no wasted food like with fresh mushrooms, and I add it to Frozen Onion and Peppers Great Value brand. Time saver, and money saver. Use in any recipe that calls for fresh mushrooms.
Great Value Frozen Mushrooms Mushrooms add great flavor to so many dishes, and these frozen mushrooms make it easy to have them on hand. No cleaning or chopping—just use what you need and keep the rest in the freezer. The key is to warm them first and drain off the extra water. If you cook them straight from frozen, they’ll release moisture into your dish. Once you know that, they’re very easy to use. They work well for both pan frying and baking, and I like keeping them around for quick sauces and meals
I always have a bag of frozen mushrooms in my freezer for pantry meals. Walmart brand is very inexpensive, so it's a great buy. Once you add them to a dish and the whole dish is heated up, your fam will never know they didn't start as fresh mushrooms.
WALMART. you need to update your choices for us CONSUMERS. ..For example. when we buy produce online for home delivery. a. choice needs. to be available.. If we are buying avocados, bananas, there should be a choice whether we want them readily available. or if they need to be green, unripe. so. that we. can eat them later??
I purchased this product because I love mushrooms and liked the idea of having them conveniently frozen and ready to use. My intention was to use them on pizza. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that once defrosted, they release a large amount of water and become very soggy. Because of this, they didn’t work well for my intended use. In my experience, canned or jarred mushrooms are a better option than these frozen ones. Lesson learned.
