I like to cut them in half and use these in my soups and stew. I love the texture, and the taste, better than can corn. I also serve them as and appetizer, with olives and cherry tomatoes. I cut them up and use them in salads, and I also pickle them with vinegar, water, salt, and sugar. Pickled they stay in the fridge for along time.
We always stock our pantry with the baby corns. Not only are they cute, but they have a nice taste and a little firm texture. We not only use them in our homemade asian foods, but we also add them to various soups, like Chicken and potato corn chowder and some Mexican stews.
I bought a van from another store thinking it was these ones, however, they were NOT !!! They were much larger pieces, with only about 8 total medium sized ears. They weren't sweet in flavor like these ones are. These are great for any type of stir fry especially, but they are also very good just warned up with a little butter on them !
Highly recommend this product. These baby corn nuggets are delicious and go very well with several different recipes. They also have the perfect texture between softness and crunchiness. It's rare to find something that's well balanced like that. You can also put this in chicken salad and it's fantastic. Or throw them in some of your favorite soups.
Oddly enough, baby corn seems to be one thing that was easier to find in my childhood in the 80's and 90's than it is now! But I really like this brand. Baby corn is probably my favorite vegetable. This canned corn is crisp and has a great crunch for salad. It's also good in stir fry or as a side dish with a little butter! It's so sweet you can honestly just eat it out of the can! :) I know I've done that many times before!
If you are making Asian cuisine they mix in great to stir fry! This brand is good quality and tastes great! Make sure to drain the liquid off before using!
I like the cut pieces saves a step when making stir fry. Do have to cut a few pieces as they are random size pieces. It tastes as good as other brands Ihave tried. I rinse off with cold water to remove the canning liquid. Texture is reasonably firm/ crisp. The price is very good compared to other brands . I never sacrifice taste for price but if all things are close or equa;l price will be determining factor.
It seems like Walmart reserves dented cans for shipment. The cans I received for this order were dented. Fortunately, it does not appear to have damaged the contents. These will work well in my recipes.
These were surprisingly good...price is always the issue. We need to bring this into reality, and just provide good products for a good price...for everyone.
As has become the standard from Walmart, almost all canned goods arrive damaged and heavily dented. A tiny dent here and there is not a big problem but these heavily dented cans are unsafe to use and/or consume. The cans were not damaged in shipping as the box is in mint condition.
