I used these to make beans and corn quesadillas today! They were so good! These are a great quality pinto bean at a wonderful affordable price. I use these only as my pinto beans. They make a great inexpensive meal and from dried I can monitor the salt content unlike canned beans. They are easy to use in the instant pot and the length of tome for cooking depends on whether you soak them before you cook them but either way they cook up into pinto beans heaven!
This is a convenient size 1-lb bag. (I have started using the 4-lb bags). Prep-work speeds up the process: Rinse, soak for 2-3 days, rinse again. Crock pot is faster and easier... Boiling them requires a babysitter. If you know your way around a kitchen there is a lot of opportunity to experiment with recipes. Cooking them is one thing. How you cook them is another. *Get creative and have fun.
If you have the time and notion to diy. for a mere 99 cents for a 16oz bag, you'll get your money's worth! Especially if you look up the seasoning, (herbs and spices) to add while cooking these heart healthy beans. You'll be very satisfied you used these instead of the canned pinto beans when you have the time to make them homemade style. 😋👍👍
Please create value pinto.Beans cook up beautifully. Especially if you simmer them with onions, garlic, and bacon, until they get down to a nice creamy texture. they cook up beautifully and are a wonderful source of protein. they have such a truly subdued but rich flavor and texture.
Great taste but a lots of splits. Other recognized brand beans don't have splits. I don't care about that, so I cocked all the splits. I soaked the dry beans for two days and changed water everyday. It takes 4 hrs on high on the slow cooker. The soaking time helps reducing the cooking time and the digestion. No gas effect after eat.
These walmart great value pinto beans are great. its in a clear plastic bag, this bags is a 2lb bag, plenty for a pot or crockpot full after theyve been rinsed off and cooked a delicious meal
Healthy %26 delicious! The best flavor is to cook in your crockpot and you will love this taste! When hyperinflation takes a bite out of your grocery budget, dry pinto beans won't. It will go a long ways. It is better than cold unhealthy hamburger or fries that fast food offers.
I grew up on beans and taters. I will always have a pot of beans now and then. They are budget friendly and very filling. Make your own refried beans with them. On the stove top or in the slow cooker. Just make a pot full, but be sure you have a smokey neck or ham hock. That would be all the seasoning you will need. Make a big pan of corn bread for dipping, you know you're going to enjoy this supper!
I love these pinto beans. I put a whole bag in the crock pot and slow cook them for 8 hours. They come out of the crock pot tasting very good. I put in a little bit of garlic salt while they are cooking to add a little bit of extra taste. They are very filling and a crock pot of these beans will last me for several meals.
Always keep a bag of these in my pantry stash. Cook mine in crock pot over night with lots of water and left over pork trimmings. Serve with your favorite chow chow and enjoy. I only cook half a pack at a time for my crew of 3.
