They are beans. These beans taste like beans. I make meals with these beans. My family eats the meals that I make with these beans. These beans sometimes generate a bit of gas, but it is okay because most beans have the same effect. That means that these are real beans and not 3D printed beans.
I just had these for the first time last night and I must say it's a win. Beans taste good and for a dollar it's a good value. You can get two meals out of this or if you are a pig like me you will eat the whole can over some rice like I did last night. I topped my beans off with shredded cheese. Great meal. Will buy more.
These Pinto Beans are far better than some of the leading Pinto Bean Suppliers. Walmart Pinto Beans are not in pieces when your open the can. I recently came across a survey that named a leading Bean maker as the "best canned Pinto Beans you can buy," which was very incorrect in my view as Pinto Beans are a staple in my Hispanic family and we know that Walmart has the top canned Pinto Beans.
It's Taco Tuesday. My second mother who came over from Mexico City taught my mom to make tacos. Whole pinto beans, cheese and fried flour tortillas. It is not the typical Taco you will find in the United States but it is authentic. The recipe came straight from Mexico City.
These almost taste like what i'm used to back home from new mexico and that saying something in my very humble opinion haha. Now I'm not saying it tastes like my Grandma's beans by no means. But without having to sort through beans, soak them and then make them -this is a very nice and easy solution and cost effective. The 2 cans I did get did have dents in them. I hope that is it a forever problem? But the flavor and the chew is not mushy or crunchy. I definitely serve this as a side dish or have it as my main meal. And I do not rinse the bean sauce that comes with them. I cook it all together..
Absolutely the greatest pinto beans ever plucked from the bean stalk and put into a can. I drink the bean juice for breakfast and have a can for lunch and a can for dinner every day! Fantastic! Seriously, why are you asking for a review on a can of beans, Walmart? They’re beans. They were ok.
👍 I luv my pinto beans...I like to wash them pat them semi dry and roast them in the oven for a tasty crunchy snack put your own seasonings on them.! Healthy goodness.!! Plus use them in a pot with onions, ham,(sometimes I put in potatoes) with a side of cornbread smothered in buttermilk.!! and if I didn't put potatoes in my pot of beans I fry them for a side dish.! Yummy.!! 😋👍
I have a favorite Chili Recipe I've used for many years, that only requires hamburger and onion to be browned and drained, then opening cans and jars of multiple types of beans and this is one on the list.
I can't compare these to any other pinto beans. When I started buying just plain pinto beans, I started with great value. However, I love them and see zero reasons to try other brands. I have made a few bean salads with them. They have become my go-to bean for chili. I will open 1-2 cans, drain them, and them soak them in chili powder with garlic for 24-48 prior to making my chili. Their more mild and well balanced flavor does not overwhelm the dishes they are in. Each and every time I have used them, they have complimented the flavor profile and brought it up to level I wanted.
I picked up this can of Great Value Pinto Beans for a quick meal, and they’re solid—good texture, good flavor, and they don’t come out looking like a bean swamp. They heat up fast and work great in tacos, burritos, rice bowls, chili, or whatever last-minute dinner you’re throwing together. BUT… save yourself some money and buy the dry beans in a bag. It’s way easier than you think—soak them overnight, simmer them in the morning, and boom: a whole pile of beans for way cheaper than cans. These are fine for convenience, but dry beans are where the real value is.
