I ordered this for my neighbor. she cooks alot and had an identical one for over8 years. So i give this 8 cup Hamilton Beach Processor 10 Stars. Its a great item that i couldn't convince my neighbor to look at cheaper ones. She had no interest. only this one, that lasted over 8 years with heavy use. It is compct for its 8 cup size , has low clearance for storage.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first time electric food processor for me! I used it to chop up homemade dog food and it did not disappoint. It took the turkey roll, green beans, and eggs and mixed and chopped them into perfection. It's easy to use for the most part, putting it together was a breeze, I've only used the chopping blade so not sure how well the grater works. Chopping and pulsing worked great. I did have a hard time getting the bowl off the base, I suppose that will take some getting use to. Overall a quality product and I will use this frequently for chopping up meat for the dogs!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally got to use this today to make apple crisp. It did a great job of slicing my apples and it wasn't very noisy. The 8 cup bowl has plenty of room for the slices. It was easy to use and easy to clean afterwards. Will use again today to slice potatoes for scalloped potatoes. It is also easy to store
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Whenever I have a small chopping, slicing or shredding job, I don't want a huge food processor that will later be a hassle to clean. That is why I love that this food processor is small and dishwasher safe, making cleaning and storing a breeze. All of the attachments fit right inside the bowl, so it easy to store in a cabinet or even on the counter. In addition, the stainless steel blades cut a wide variety of food effortlessly, which has been useful when shredding carrots for my salads and crushing graham crackers for pie crusts.
Made salsa today and it did a great job pulsing the ingredients.
Being Single and having to cook dinner for my self can be dreadful when I consider the amount of prep time ahead. The Hamilton Beach 8-Cup Food Processor, 70450, has cut my prep time from 60 min to 20 min. Now I look forward to preparing meals. I have even improved my social life by entertaing Dinner Parties. From Deviled eggs to BBQ rubs, the Hamilton Beach 8-Cup Food Processor, 70450, will complete all your food preparations. Clean up is fast and easy. Because it takes up so little room, it adds an organized look to my counter top.
In my opinion, this is the ideal food processor for any family of two or for the senior citizens over 50 years of age...And would probably be a great item to have in the store..We are loving this one..It's great for vegetable grating, cheese shredding and a lot more.. Very useful...
This is my third of this same blender. None of the others broke just let go because of moving. It's a neat, easy to use and store machine that does the job I need it for, mostly making pastry large grating or slicing jobs.
I purchased this as a replacement for a 27 year old Cuisinart Min Prep 2 or 3 cup food chopper that I dropped. That's what I'm comparing this Hamilton Beach to in terms of chopping and puréing. I've never used a food processor before for slicing until now. I lightly puréed a fairly large quantity of cooked squash and this processor did fine without leaking. It processed uniformly. I could process only very small amounts in the smaller Cuisinart. I chopped, at one time, 3 medium onions, quartered, and it did so uniformly without flinging too much onion away from the blades (I only needed to scrape once while pulsing) or over chopping to form liquid as the Cuisinart did. I'm not sure how it would handle a smaller quantity. I also chopped one large onion and that was fine, too. I chopped three stalks of celery and 3 carrots previously sliced with the same very good results I got with the onions. I sliced 3 carrots and 3 celery stalks. It sliced uniformly at first but as it reached the ends of the stalks and carrots it started slicing lengthwise as the vegetables shifted position in the feed tube until whole pieces spun around the space between the cover and the slicing blade. I'd say it was fair with this task. It saves time but I had to manually slice the ends of the vegetables and what was sliced wasn't completely uniform. The on/off/pulse switch is awkward to use.
I wanted this to make cookie and bread dough. It said in the description that it could handle bread dough. When I opened it and read the instructions, they said it would ruin the machine if cookie or bread dough were made in it. It was returned the next day.
