Wonderful pan! I personally don't find it too heavy at all, just right. Regardless of how many people you're cooking for, a 12" skillet should be in your arsenal. This particular pan "disappeared" over the holidays with notices of not available at this time. Not even Lodge had it on their website. I was thrilled to find it on walmart.com. It was also delivered more than a week earlier than was quoted. It should be noted, Walmart is selling the very same Lodge skillet for $34.00 less than Amazon

Product is fantastic. Is a beautiful cast iron pan that should last forever. You just need to learn to take care of cast iron and it’s number one weakness, moisture. Although it seems to have been pre-seasoned, I would recommend seasoning cast iron soon after you purchase it. I use flax oil but a number of oils will do in a pinch. Just make sure not to let cast iron sit in any type of moisture or it will rust, then you will have to refinish which is a whole process.

By picking a large size pot, I was afraid that since it overlaps my biggest burner, it could have an uneven temperature all around. It didn't. The cast iron kept the cooking even. Very well made, although it had some imperfections, common in this pieces. Will recommend to anybody willing to have a big frying pan.

I have two Lodge frying pans (the company calls them skillets), one that is 10-1/4 " , which I use every day, and one that is 13-1/4". Before I write about how great they are, I just want to warn anyone getting the 13-1/4" pan that it's heavy, but I can fit an impressive amount of food in it. I'd suggest considering the 12" pan. Also, these pans are seasoned by the manufacturer so you don't have to go through the time and trouble of doing it yourself. I cook on an electric stove, and the pan heats incredibly evenly using the lowest settings. My meals have been coming even better than before since using these pans (after the first meal I burned because I didn't realize how well the cast iron conducts heat).

I wish it came with silicone handles. I bought them afterwards. I love the fact that it has 2 handles for the weight. I am older now and to handle a heavy skillet to pour out grease into a jar with only the traditional single handle is too hard for me, even when I was younger. This skillet has two handles and two pour spouts. PERFECTION!

Mighty big and heavy but love it. The only problem I have is storing it. So big, it only fits in the oven. Asides that, it is as good as new. Food cooks well and cleans well and when seasoned, it is gorgeous. Lodge is a great brand and once you know how to care for their pans, you're good.

I absolutely love this pan. The heat distribution is amazing. It heats evenly without any cold spots. It makes my homemade pizza even more delicious baked in this pan. I have always bought Lodge cast iron pans to cook with and have never been disappointed with their quality. The price is great.

I'm not one to leave reviews typically but I just have to with with purchase! I've been wanting to purchase a Cast Iron skillet for a while now but I was unsure what brand to get or if that even mattered. I did my research on this Brand as well as some others that got pretty pricey! The price for the size of this pan was fantastic! I pulled the trigger and purchased it. It us pre-seasoned but I decided to follow the instructions for the oven seasoning method if the Lodge website and did 2 extra rounds of it. Perfect! I have used it almost everyday since and NOTHING has stuck and it cooks beautifully! Don't over pay! Lodge is the way to go for Cast Iron and I have no regrets!

This supposedly preseasoned pan has a small area that was very smooth and the rest of the pan very gritty which caused the food to stick right away. Before using it I seasoned it again in case it wasn't properly seasoned but it did not help at all. Thank you for sending another one which I will soon rate after cooking in it.
