It was very easy to use. Preheat unit, preheat light will come on when unit is preheated. Spray the rings and plates with cooking spray, food won't stick. Put the bottom of a biscuit, bagel or croissant onto the bottom plate. Top with ingredients such as precooked meat, veggies and cheese. Do not overfill breakfast sandwich maker. Overfilling will cause food to spill over the rings and get on the hinges. Move top ring and plate down on top of the meat and cheese. Make sure cooking plates are rotated securely to the back of rings as far as they go to prevent leaking egg. Crack eggs unto each plate. Pierce yolk with a toothpick or fork. Top with other half of bread. Close cover. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes. Timer will beep when done cooking. Unplug to turn off unit. When done cooking rotate cooking plate handles out until they stop. Lift both rings up. Sandwiches are on the bottom of unit, they will be easier to remove. Use only a plastic or wooden utensil. Never use metal. Always wait 2 minutes between cooking sandwiches to ensure the breakfast sandwich maker is heated to the correct temperature. To remove rings and plates for washing. Hold bottom ring handles to open, and then lift straight up. To replace ring assemblies, align hinges to the base, taller ring on bottom, with cooking plate handles facing out and lower. Wipe outside of unit with damp cloth.

This is so easy to use. Plug it in, choose what you want on your sandwich put it all together and enjoy. Make sure the egg plate is closed and you preheat the machine to prevent the eggs from leaking... It's great so you can choose what ingredients you want to use. You can use a large egg, scramble, just egg white or egg with the yolk. With the cooking process, you would think that putting the top of the muffin, bagel, or pancake directly on the uncooked egg wouldn't let it cook... Well the egg was cooked all the way through. (I did scrambled and regular with yolk) really only took 5 minutes and the muffins top and bottom were crispy and everything was completely cooked... So much better then McDonalds... Very easy to take apart and clean. The egg rings and plates whiped clean with no problem... Cheese also melted on the side and wiped clean with just a paper towel. I lifted the rings and the sandwiches were together perfectly... The rings come out for easy cleaning and they are dishwasher safe. (Do not use metal utensils) Easy to put back together... Also small enough to fit in a kitchen cabinet... The only cons about this is the cord is really short and the timer sound is very low so don't walk to far away while cooking... Other then that, this is a great machine... Have fun with it...

Love this sandwich maker. If you love breakfast sandwiches and yet don’t like paying for them at the fast food joints or would like to have more control of what goes into your sandwich then this is for you. I made sandwiches for the family this weekend and the overall response was “these are better than the ones from the restaurant.” This is great. Easy to use and easy to clean up. Me and my family love the sausage and egg muffins you can get from the fast food places, but this allows me to make them at a fraction of the cost and choose what is in it. It takes 5 minutes to cook once you have all your ingredients in the disks. You do have to precook all your meat prior to use, but that doesn’t take much time or effort. I did make some ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches with cold cooked ham from the deli and the sandwich maker heated it all up nice and hot. When I started making these sandwiches I was worried that the egg would come out of the rings and go all over the place, but it contains it and cooks it up nice. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that likes breakfast sandwiches and would like to get creative.

McDonald's move over. Rarely does a product do exactly what it claims to do, but this Sandwich Maker DOES!. The quality of it's heavy construction, feels like commercial grade. Just plug in and get ready, it gets to proper cooking temperature within a minute and remains keeping that temperature for as long as you need, letting you know the temperature is correct with the green indicator light. It does get very hot, so attention should be made to ensure safety of everyone around. I didn't think it could cook an egg properly, being the egg does not touch any part of either heating elements, but it did. It does lists to use cooking spray on the cooking plate for the egg, but I dabbed a little butter with a napkin and wiped the cooking plate and it worked just find. I also experimented just cooking some eggs sunny side up alone and they came out fine. The cooking rings are perfect for English Muffins and small Bagels, it also listed that only use large or smaller eggs, but I used jumbo eggs and they did not overflow. The bread used on the bottom cooking ring does get cooked more crispy, but I used some butter on the outside of the muffin and it kept it a little softer. The timer allows for you to cook between 30 seconds and 10 minutes at 30 second intervals and you will need to experiment with cooking times as they are not listed in the pamphlet. It will also allow you to cook several batches in a row without waiting for the machine to maintain proper cooking temperature, so cooking for several people is great. Easy clean up, just wahs the cooking rings/plate and wipe the heating elements.

I LOVE breakfast sandwiches but was really skeptical in selecting this product to review. My first concern was, why do I need a sandwich machine that can only make one type of sandwich? I wondered how versatile this machine could be, and was additionally concerned about how much space it would take up in the cabinets. The front of the box made it seem like it had a few complicated parts and I was a bit intimidated to give it a try. I started by reading the basic instructions that said the meat had to be pre-cooked. So I purchased some frozen pre-cooked bacon as well as pre-cooked sausage. With all of my ingredients in hand, I began Saturday morning testing out this breakfast sandwich maker. Past experience with other sandwich makers indicated that I should be prepared for a mess, for stickiness and for lots of cleanup of the machine. Saturday morning I followed the instructions to a "T." I wiped down the machine and cleaned the two circular assemblies. The two assemblies pop out incredibly easy! After hand-drying the two non-stick assemblies (can also place in the dishwasher), I sprayed them with "Pam," re-installed them and began heating up the machine. From there I just followed the simple instructions for layering the sandwich, cracked and egg and pinched the yolk and 4.5 minutes later I had a spectacular sandwich! There is no temperature to set - the machine takes care of that for you!! It's really ingenious! There is NO mess! Nothing leaked out or over the sides, nothing was burned! It's incredible that an egg can cook THAT FAST without ever touching the grill! It's more incredible that it can do all this and not burn!!! By Sunday morning I was ready to put it to the test. Off came the two circular assemblies (pop out) and now I wanted to see if this machine could grill too! With the two circular assemblies removed, I began heating up the machine (plugging in starts the warm up). This time I buttered the insides of the muffin and laid them flat on the "grill." (See photo.) Yup, even shut the top portion of the machine to give the muffins more heat. I flipped the muffin a couple of times and got a nice, toasted and crunchy muffin! Woo-hoo! Well, if it will toast my muffin on both sides, I guess it will brown my frozen sausage too! And it did!!! Surprisingly again, no mess! No grease! No run-off! My reason for testing this in this manner is because, what if one wants a toasted muffin and does not have access to a toaster? Regardless of taking the time to toast or not toast, both sandwiches came out incredibly delicious! If I had to compare the two sandwiches, I would say the first sandwich on Saturday (just following the directions) was much better than the toasted sandwich on Sunday. But at least you know this machine can grill-toast if you are really wanting to do that. However, there is no recommendation in the instructions to grill on this machine -- this was just one of my own GadgetGirl tests to see what this machine was capable of. I am VERY impressed with this BEAST of a sandwich maker. It will now become my new lunchbox. I am a 12-hour shift worker who starts work at 3 am. I cannot find a fast food place that serves breakfast at that hour. I will be taking this sandwich maker to work and will keep it in my locker so that I can make breakfast when I get there. Yes, it is small enough to fit in the average locker. I plan to share this item with my hungry co-workers as well. I believe I will find many other uses for this machine over time as I continue to challenge it. I may make a tiny cake or two in it, or perhaps a big chocolate chip cookie! So yes, I found this machine to be versatile (grill / toast). There are a couple of safety concerns as noted in my "CONS" section below. Just know that, it is SOOOOOOO EASY AND SOOOO CLEAN! I wonder now why I ever raised an eye-brow to it wondering if it was all that it said it was. Take it from me....YES!!!!!! CONS: Can be very hot to the touch - use oven mittens DOES NOT shut off after sandwiches are done

When researching this product, I read reviews online and noticed that it had rave reviews so I was looking forward to trying it out myself to see what the hype was about. Now I know, this product is amazing! My daughters (ages 5 and 6) are reluctant to try new things but they both loved the breakfast sandwich and helped me prepare it. I kept the sandwich simple for them... english muffin, egg, and cheese. The product is simple to use. You plug it in, wait for the Ready light to shine, and start layering all the items. After all the items are layered, you close the lid, and set the time (recommended for 4 to 5 minutes), and within minutes you have yourself a yummy meal!

Hamilton Beach Dual Breakfast Sandwich Maker, Silver I just had to try this machine! I was tired of paying almost $3.00 a piece for Wawa’s breakfast sandwiches. The description promises hot, homemade breakfast sandwiches in less than five minutes. This, I had to see! What do I love about this machine? It's compact enough to store in a cabinet. You really do have homemade breakfast sandwiches made to your specification in less than five minutes. The middle plates are easy to slide in and out. Cleanup can be done in the dish washer or in the sink without too much of a fuss in minutes. Those things all equal a no-mess, no-fuss breakfast (lunch or dinner) that's quick, yummy, and easy! How does it work? You preheat the machine and then place the bottom of your sandwich first. That can be just about anything that's 4" around. So I would include muffins, bagels and even little frozen pancakes! Next you add any precooked meats, veggies or cheese. Then you crack an egg into the cooking plate. Pierce the yolk. You can use whole eggs, just the whites, or scrambled. Last, just top the other half with whatever you've chosen and close the lid. The timer goes in half-minute increments when you use the up or down button to select your time. While it does beep when the time is up, this doesn't mean that the machine is off. That's the one thing I would change. It doesn't have automatic turn-off. That's the only thing! When you're done cooking, it’s easy to get your sandwich out (depending on how thick you've made it). You just rotate the handles of the cooking plate so they turn out and stop, then life the ring assemblies and the cover. This is simply done by holding the bottom ring handles to open the machine. All the moving plates were intimidating at first but I soon got over. It heats up fast an watch out it gets hot so keep a pot holder close by. I wish they had incorporated an on/off switch on the front but I’m ok with it going on from just plugging it in. You can make two totally different sandwiches at one time! One the way you like and one the way your husband likes or one way each of the kids like. It's so easy and very quick! I made 2 sandwiches using English Muffins, shredded cheddar, thin sliced turkey, egg w/ yolk ( you can just do egg whites ) as soon as it was delivered and they were awesome hot and yummy. Best of all I had everything I had here and didn’t have to run out to the store to get it all. No downside to this appliance but most of all no more $3.00 Breakfast Sandwiches for me.

Where has this sandwich maker been all my life! I leave for work at 5am every morning and do not have time to cook breakfast every morning so I usually stop for the fast food breakfast sandwich. Never again! This sandwich maker is so easy to use and you have your breakfast in 5 minutes or less. That is including prep time. So easy to use, just spray surfaces with cooking spray and preheat. Preheating takes no time. Place your bread bottom (english muffin, bagel, croissant) in bottom ring and and meat, cheese, veggies, whatever you prefer then lower upper ring making sure the slide out divider is in and add your egg and bread top. I set the timer and continue getting ready for work. In less than 5 minutes you have a hot breakfast sandwich. When the timer goes off open lid and slide out divider lift the rings and remove your sandwich with a spatula. So fast and easy!! I was worried at first about placing a raw egg in thinking it would run out of the upper ring but it doesn't. Clean up is fast and easy too. I just use a damp paper towel once the sandwich maker has cooled down and wipe it off. You cannot beat this sandwich maker. Great for people who do not have time to cook breakfast before work.

My family loves breakfast sandwiches but the frozen ones have so much sodium that we don’t eat them very often. With the breakfast sandwich maker they can be done quickly and more nutritious. It is very easy to take apart, to use and to clean. The cups slide right out, put them in the dishwasher top rack or put into some sudsy warm water and wipe clean. They go back in just as easy. The entire unit is fairly small so it doesn’t take up a lot of room. Using cooking spray on the trays kept anything from sticking. You want to make sure any meat you use is precooked. It only takes 4-5 minutes to get the sandwich just right. Make sure to preheat the unit and have all the ingredients you want to use ready before starting the pre-heat which takes a few minutes. Once it’s ready to heat start adding your sandwich fixings. Lower the bottom cup and put the bread in the bottom, top the bread with the meat, vegetables and or cheese on top of it. Slide the top cup down and make sure the divider is in place. If you want eggs crack them into a bowl first and then put into the top cup, poke the egg yolk with a fork to spread it evenly in the cup, lay your bread on top and close the cover. Set the timer for the length you want. You many need to play a little bit with the timer to get the sandwiches the way you like them. I tried out several types of bread and it worked really well with everything. I used sugar free bread, flat bread, English muffins, waffles and thin sliced bagels. The booklet that comes with the unit also suggested small croissant sandwiches which I didn’t have but I believe it would work well. I used both sliced and shredded cheese, they both worked but the sliced cheese really covered the entire sandwich. You want to make sure that the cheese is thin enough that it will melt. The bread I use is sugar free and I didn’t know how it would work but it turned out very well. I set the bread under the bottom cup and pressed down lightly. It was enough that I had the impression to cut the bread to the perfect size. The extra bread went to the birds. When I used the sugar free bread which is much lighter than regular bread I set the timer for 3.5 minutes. The bread was just slightly toasted and golden brown. If you use a lighter bread go light on the cooking spray, I used too much the first time and the bread was soggy. The English muffins and the thin bagels came out perfect when I set it for 4 minutes. The waffles were frozen and I set it for 5 minutes and they turned out great for us. The waffles were a little too large for the cups but they still came out good. If you have all the items you need to make a breakfast sandwich you can make two in under 10 minutes. If you need to cook the meat it will take longer. What I did was made enough sandwiches to last a week and put them in plastic containers. It took me about 40 minutes all together but I had meals for an entire week of breakfast. I let the unit cool down, slide the cups out and into some warm soapy water, then wiped the unit itself down, then wiped the cups down, dried them off, put them into the unit and it was done. I’m also going to try this for warm sandwiches during the week. I can see thin sliced turkey, ham or even ground beef if the patty is thin enough and pre-cooked. Great little gadget to have in your kitchen!

This product is a great gift or item to have for an on the go person very quick and easy to use. Caution: All surfaces are HOT! When operating please have oven mittens available. I highly suggest spraying the cooking surfaces to prevent your bread from sticking. Operating this product is extremely easy. I allowed my children to create their own sandwiches (under my supervision). This product contains two lights and two buttons. One of the lights is of course the power button which remains lit. The other light indicate whether the product has reached the preheat temperature. You do not have to set this product to a preheated temperature it is already programmed. The two buttons on this product are used to start the timer. This product consists of two different levels. It’s the bottom level where you place your bottom bun meats and/or cheeses and the top layer is where your egg and top bun is placed. This product does NOT cook meats. Any meats used should be precooked. It also contains a plate which cooks your egg. When placing your egg on the plate, be sure to puncture the egg yolk or it will spill over once you close the lid. This product is very easy to clean. The surfaces are nonstick allowing for a quick and easy clean up. FYI: There is NO on or off switch. Once you plug the product in it automatically starts to preheat. This happens to be one of the dislikes I have about this product. I wish it contained an on or off switch. Overall, I love this product, easy to use and easy to clean. I highly recommend this product for an on the go person or simply for someone who would rather make their own breakfast sandwiches at home in minutes.
