Hamilton Beach Smoothie Smart Blender, 40 oz Jar, New, Black, 56206

bought this from walmart couple years ago. reading current reviews i'm thinking HB changed design? i doubt that. since i'm vegan, i use the blender at least twice daily. make certain the jar is inserted into the base. chopping ice alot or root veg can dull blades. after 6 or so months of daily use, sharpen blade and insert new gasket. always use few ounces of liquid to your mix to start. if you have to push things down to start, use a wooden dowel type or similar when blender is off, of course. sometimes i have to do that when blending grapefruit halves with oatmeal and soymilk. yes the lid fits securely. it's supposed to, and it's not a big deal. as a vegan, i'm light on my feet, but that said, it does not require special force to remove lid after blend. i remove the lid to pour contents into cup for consumption. i've mixed everything, including dry ingredients. i dont mix dairy products nor meats of course, but this blender should handle that if you're using those products. this blender has served me well and done more than i asked of it. walmart charged less than what it is advertised for now, but that's moot since it's out of stock. that's too bad. again, i'm amazed at the poor reviews here. i know 7 people who have this blender, including myself. never an issue except if you buy cheap off brand gaskets that fit poorly. then you will have small base leak. summing up: make certain your blender is plugged into your kitchen counter 20 amp outlet. be certain your outlet is grounded and wired correctly and fresh for snug plug fit. walmart sells an inexpensive outlet 3 prong tester that you can plug into all your outlets to make absolutely certain your ground, neutral, and hot are correctly wired to your outlet. hope this review helps a few readers.

I started to give the blender 3 stars, because I did not receive a shipping invoice. If something goes wrong with it I have no proof of purchase except my credit card statement. So, in the event something does go wrong what the return or exchange policy?

So far so good. Easy to use. Very easy to clean. Great price. Had more expensive before and gave away. Needed new blender for smoothies and wanted to try this one, glad I did, like this one much better than the expensive one. Has nice selection of different blending modes.

I’ve had this blender for more than four years and its been amazing!! My husband eats the Daily Harvest smoothies for lunch and this thing chomps through the frozen whole nuts, chunks of cacao, loads of frozen fruits/veggies making short work of it! My hubby doesn’t like the nuts so much so I just run it through a second cycle and its perfect. Ive read the other reviews and i will say the lid can be challenging to get off if it gets completely snugged down but I simply snug it only halfway and I’ve not had any issues with difficulty of getting off or any leakages. I love this smoothie blender and I’ve given each of my kids one as well.

Terrific blender for price.....smoothie button works perfect........wanted glass container.....keeps colder.

It's much louder than I thought. Using it at 7am in an apartment, I feel I wake up the neighbors. I'm not sure I can add things to it while it's on, the cover is great for pouring but not great if I want to add veggies while it's on, so I don't. It can shimmy while on. And at low speeds, I am hearing some scrapping noise in the motor. Something I hope is not something that will break later. Overall, it is exactly what I wanted.

I bought this because we have the small individual blender that everyone can make their own thing in the cup, but then we have about 8 cups dirty at once because no one can clean them when they are done. And we have it is for years and it is not blending well at all. Then I found this GEM of a blender has the buttons for what we use a blender for, smoothies, ice drinks, and milkshakes plus the pulse option. It is great crushes through the frozen fruit and ice like a charm just make sure you have enough liquid or just add more to blend it to perfection. I would totally recommend this item and I did, I bought it for my mom for her birthday and she was so excited, they have had milkshakes every night for a week since she got it. I would say great product and when your done rinse clean.
