This is, by far, the best little coffee maker around. I have been using The Scoop for years. I am on my 3rd one, because I have purchased a new one every year, just to have a shiney new one, and the price is so reasonable. I have passed the old ones on to friends and bought a few for gifts. It makes excellent coffee and I can save money by using a regular can of coffee of my choice. I love the metal scoop for a filter. This is so simple and quick to use. Hamilton Beach is the best!
I really like that it accommodates both a regular coffee cup as well as a tall travel mug. It offers brew strength flexibility but my favorite thing is that it uses regular coffee so I dont have to use k-cups which are expensive and take up too much room. Super happy with it so far.
Where has this been all of my life! I used one when I was visiting friends, out of state, and just knew I had to have one, as soon as I could afford it. It is so simple, and cost effective. Brews a cup just as you want it, with several variables from which to choose. I believe it is actually faster than a KCup coffeemaker.
I absolutely love this machine. It serves my needs perfectly as I'm not a fancy-shmancy coffee drinker and instant coffee is just too pricey for my taste. This machine is so well thought out in its design that it makes the task of making coffee fun again. There's no messy paper filters to drag out into the trash. It's so easy to rinse out and have ready for the next morning. It's crazy how this thing wasn't built over two decades ago. There's nothing technologically whiz bang about it. It looks good, works great, and is simple enough for someone super lazy like me to have no problems keeping it clean and ready for the next cup of coffee. There's no clunky carafe to collect stains and ding around inside of the sink hoping it doesn't break while you wash it. Major plus is that my wife thinks this is some $120 model because of how slick it looks and works. Of of my great buys of 2020. Get one or two.
The main reason I purchased this coffee maker is because it was neither a carafe type with a warmer nor a K-cup type. I hate the warmers as they make coffee taste burned. I would rather reheat coffee in a mug in the microwave than have a warmer destroy the flavor. The other reason I hate warmers is that the paint peels off the warmer and it rusts causing rust to cling to the carafe. Also, it just looks nasty. I did not want to use K-cups because they cannot be recycled. This is a nice alternative. I brew it straight into a metal insulated mug. Then, I can either dump the grounds into a plant or into my composter. I am pleased with the coffee brewed and glad that I do not have to purchase filters.
I absolutely love this coffee Maker. I'm in assisted living and I'm an early riser. Our dining room doesn't open until 8 AM and I hate waiting 3 hours for my first cup of coffee. Now I'm able to make a cup in 2 minutes when I wake up and it's delicious coffee. I also love that it takes up very little counterspace.
i love how quick it makes coffee and the fact that i can make just a cup as im the only one who drinks coffee, my only complaint....is it says you can control the brew strength but the button seems to be broken or not work not sure which. In the long run it doesn't matter as much as i thought it would.
I am very happy with the purcahse. Its small and fits into my SS kitchen. Some how, I thought that the travel mug was part of the package. But even without it, the price was excellent. The cup /mug holder needs to have a intermediate levell. If you use a 12oz mug it won't fit on the top position of the platform. Put the mug on the bottom position and you get coffee splatter on the back of the preparation area.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE. I cleaned the machine and all removable parts (cup and secondary filter) before use. Brewed a cup of coffee - and it tasted like plastic. Thinking there might be some residue from the manufacturing process, I ran the cup and secondary filter through the dishwasher and ran vinegar/water solution through the machine - flushed it with water 3X - and brewed another cup. It still tasted like plastic. It is a shame because I really wanted to like this machine!
Maybe I got a bad one but the taste of coffee using this is just gawd awful. It has a plasticky taste to it. It really is undrinkable. It ain't my coffee's fault. I did about 5 run throughs just brewing water. Then I tried white vinegar and water. Nothing I did got rid of the bad plastic taste. Too bad cuz I like the design. Returned it. Buyer beware.
