Hammons Black Walnuts Large Pieces, 12 oz

I grew up eating black walnuts because we had the trees on our property and they do have a unique taste that’s not for everyone, but I love these. I love black walnut ice cream growing up as a kid in mid Michigan and I also love to add walnuts into my chocolate chip cookies, my carrot cake recipe, sprinkled atop my tuna salad sandwiches %26 in pasta dishes for added flavor interest %26 a nutty crunch! I’ve lived most of my life now in Tennessee and we live in the country here too, and my husband and I have at least one walnut tree back in our woods, which I have forged fallen walnuts from, but unfortunately, they are a big chore to clean, dry out, %26 to crack even with a nutcracker that’s made for cracking black walnuts with so I’m thankful to have Hammons black walnuts to fall back on when larger amounts are needed for convenience sake!

These black walnuts brings back childhood memories. I love to snack on these. I stocked up and bought 10 bags. I also loved the extended expiration dates. It's hard to find black walnuts at a decent price. This particular brand is fresh and tastes absolutely delicious.

I ate black walnuts off the ground when I was a kid my hands would turn orange from the hull and the shell is harder than a english walnut. These Hammons walnuts are delicious and they have milder flavor than eating them squirrel style off the ground. And they're full of good stuff.

These black walnuts are fresh, perfectly sized for using in salads, cheese balls, granola bars and of-course black walnut fudge, cake or just for snacking. Some folks misunderstand the black walnut and assume their very unique flavor is a flaw or that they are “bad”. Not so. The flavor of a Black Walnut is a far cry from the English Walnut. They have a strong and distinct flavor. Personally, my family and I love these and have many tried and true recipes passed down through the years that call for black walnuts. Highly recommend these. Especially for holiday baking. The price is great. The process it takes to hull and shell black walnuts can be messy, time consuming and difficult. The Hammons Black Walnuts are going to make my holiday baking and candy making so much simpler this year! Very satisfied.

I really enjoy these black walnuts! I I put them on my yogurt, my banana in milk, and oatmeal with apples. And for a treat/snack I eat them in a dish mixed w/ raisans. Every now and then I come across an odd tasting one but otherwise they are great!

the reason why I wouldn't recommend buying these they have a very bad smell to them if you can get past the smell they kind of bitter a little bit not exactly how I remember them tasting when I was a child I would not be buying them again and I would not recommend unless you can get past the smell and the bitterness

ilI opened the bag. It had a terrible smell. I took a bite and spit it out. I was so ransid. How old was this bag of Black walnuts. How long do these people keep the food in the warehouse or on the shelves. Just terrible. Now I have to take it back to Walmart customer standing in line for who knows how long. Rediculous! Don't buy it.

Opened the bag and smelled chemicals. Tasted like chemicals. Has a powder looking substance on the faces of the fresh nut. Product smell and taste is very off putting.

If I could give these a negative 3000 I would they are horrible! These are not cheap walnuts and when you have to throw the whole bag away because they taste like chemical poison!!!!!!!!!! DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!

Purchased in Feb and placed in freezer where I keep all walnuts for long term storage . Opened today to use and these tasted AWFUL! Rancid or sprayed with something that tastes like spray paint smells. Threw them all away! So glad I didn’t cook something with them before I tasted them. All would have been ruined.
