I love this sambal oleck. I don't even bother chopping up jalapenos or other peppers any more. I just put a teaspoon or two or more into whatever I am cooking that calls for hot peppers and it is so very good. It takes less time and effort than chopping up the hot peppers and, to me, the finished product is just as good.
Great Asian flavor that complements everything I have used it in including Oklahoma and traditional barbeque, marinades, and - of course - oriental stir fries. Also makes a great dipping sauce. Great price too and convenient.
good product, speedy delivery
Good product. I use it in my Indonesian chicken recipe.
I love the flavor of this on just about everything. I hate that they've jacked the price from what you pay in the store at $2.98 to $8.98. That's more than 1000% increase. I think that's a major problem now a day's. People and companies are taking advantage of everyone and it really does need to STOP. That's just bad marketing.
This is some of the best chili paste ever!!! It's flavorful but also has a kick! I would rate it between medium-hot. I put this on everything, and it adds the perfect kick. Highly recommend- when it comes back in stock
A friend and I nicknamed this stuff Dragons Blood because it is so hot. And its just heat, including the seeds, without sugar
First off, its not hot sauce but a gloppy chile gel that has very little flavor aside from the heat of the chile itself. But even a bare chile should have more to say for itself. Certainly a chipotle chile is distinguishable from a habanero chile, but this chile is really bland. Next up, going by what I have read that it is supposedly this fantastic spicy flavor enhancer to food, over the course of a month or so I experimented with adding it to various recipes, including homemade sauces, and was surprised how little it contributed. If you taste a tiny bit on your tongue, it is quite spicy. Yet it somehow disappears when added to other ingredients. It just didnt seem strong enough to rise to the occasion on its own and just sort of dissolves into sauces and stews never to be seen or heard from again.
arrived with chile paste coating the outside of the container, opened the lid and saw the protective seal had been broken.
I paid $10.95 for 8 oz. Amazon shows a 2 pack of 16 oz jars for $14.89.
