it is shipped pretty dull, ( thats a liability issue ) simply put if you don't know how to sharpen it, you don't know how to use it. for the price its a great deal, no its not the best, it's also not the most expensive either. it took only about 5 min. to sharpen it amd since its for cutting heavy brush and saplings as well as living in my truck, it'll serve those purpases very well.

I bought both this and a mini chainsaw for my adult daughter’s birthday to go along with a camp stove that required the wood to be really small. I bought the axe as an after thought, thinking it it wouldn’t get used much. Though the electric chain saw is super super easy to use, and she has used it some, she has found this axe to be easier. It has kept its edge well too

This thing feels great. I haven’t done any big tests with it yet but I was easily able to take bark off a tree and cut branches off. The handle really does a good job with shock resistance. Nice spot to tie it on your bag. Not too heavy like a full size, but still big enough to use 2 handed. It comes dull so make sure to have a whetstone ready. The top is still a full size axe head, so it is a good weight, not like some gimmicky little hatchet. You can definitely use the back side as a hammer too.

I've never owned my own ax, it'll take regular handling and practice to assess it fully. it needs to be sharpened. I find that the weight is just right however. it's been years since an ax was part of my regular use, Girl Scouts, and yearly camping trips. at present, it was driving past so many felled trees because of power lines, and clearing that made me feel that as an artist, perhaps I could begin to make use of this wood. so begins the process of seeing where this can go, this conversation between myself, this natural resource, and my new tool.

It is a little heavy, but I got used to it. I had a few small saplings cut down in my yard and this was so helpful in getting rid of the little stumps.

I bought this for one of my husbands birthday gifts, I got it shipped and it's been used. I bought brand new but it had rust and dust all over it. The handles rubber is ripping off in spots as well.
