the drill is nice. has a good amount of torque and power. with the variable speed setting it's wonderful for drilling hardened metals without burning up bits. a little on the noisy side but not the worst
I love this drill. Only thing thatsucks honestly that it has to be connected but the reason I bought this specific one was because it's affordable and I have no regrets. You definitely get more than what you pay for.
The Hyper Tough 5.0-amp 3/8-Inch Electric Drill with Keyless Chuck is an awesome drill. I have not owned many corded drills because I always thought cordless was the easier option. However, this drill is very powerful and ready whenever you need it. I like this corded drill because the cordless drills that I have don't always have a full battery and if I am doing something where I am going to be drilling a lot, I like not having to worry about the battery running out. The keyless chuck is a great feature that most drills have now a days, it is easy to lock and unlock when needing to switch drill bits. The fwd and rev lever is easy and convenient place so with a quick switch, you can change the direction you are needing. It is fairly light compared to other corded drills I have used and is much lighter than the cordless drills due to not needing the battery pack on there. The hand positioning is easy to grip and does not want to come out if you hit a snag or a hard spot when drilling. My wife has used it and says it is easy for her to use also. I would recommend it.
The Hyper Tough Drill is a well made quality drill that is more than I expected it to be. The main features I will call the "Pro"s" are that it has variable adjustable speeds which mean that you can drill really fast or if you have a project that is delicate you can set it to drill really slow (This is located on the "trigger" of the drill easy access) ,There is NO key needed to change drill bits , and I like that it has the lock speed button feature - which means you don't have to worry about the speed of the drill as it's locked at that speed until you unlock it which is a push of the button. I first tried it out on a kitchen chair that the legs were falling off, at first the drill went so fast I almost lost it ! This drill has a LOT of power if you need it but I did't for the chair legs. This is a great little drill weighs 3 lbs. and full of power. Although it is corded the cord is quite long at 6 ft. and can always be used with extension cord. This drill has power up to 3000 RPM and believe me it is fast drilling if that's what you need. This is a handy drill for having in the home for home up keep or for anyone that needs a great drill. I do have one "Con" The so called handy belt clip is not so handy. The belt clip is in an odd place if used the drill sticks straight out. All in all bottom line great drill , works great, powerful, handy and sturdy. I would definitely recommend this drill to anyone looking for a reasonably priced drill with super power. I gave it 5 stars because it really worked great on my chairs , see picture. I will never use the belt clip anyway , that has nothing to do with the drills performance. FYI: NO it does not come with any bits
Bought this to assemble furniture, needed a basic drill. Was more than powerful enough for standard jobs, reversible and variable speed adjusting settings worked great for me. Did everything I needed to do, also used to screw in mounting brackets on studs to hand shelves as well and it performed flawlessly.
I got this drill to finish a fence that we are putting in to use with screws instead of nails. This has worked perfectly and because it is corded, it has the full power to finish the job without having to stop and recharge. I can swap out a bit very easily with the keyless chuck and the lightweight makes it easy to handle. The 6-foot cord is enough length to have for just about any project and with the variable speeds, you can feel comfortable going at your own pace. I highly recommend Hyper Tough to help you get the job done! Awesome drill at a price I can afford!
This Hyper Tough 3/8 inch corded drill has been another solid tool from the brand. For the price, it actually performs really well. It has adjustable power levels so you can dial it in depending on the job, which is nice when switching between lighter tasks and heavier drilling. I recently used it while building part of a deck and ran roughly 10 pounds of deck screws with it. The drill handled the work without any real issues and had plenty of power to drive screws easily. In fact, if you're not careful it's easy to have the power set too high and sink a 6-inch screw way deeper than you intended. The only thing I noticed is that it does build up quite a bit of heat during heavy use. After a lot of continuous drilling it gets pretty hot to the touch, so it's a good idea to give it a break now and then. Overall though, it's a great budget drill that has more power than you might expect. For DIY projects and general shop use it's definitely a good value.
Its not too heavy and fits in my hand very well. Keyless chuck is simple to use.Drill came with instruction manual, It had all the basic safety instructions and was pretty informative.Cord of the drill has a good length. You can control the drilling speed by twisting the knob. The knobs are made of plastic parts, not sure how long it will last. I would also preferred a pouch to keep the drill safely. This was the first time I was using a drill and I would say I was comfortable using it. Works fine. This is a handy drill to keep it at home.
The first thing I noticed was that this drill felt comfortable in my hand. It feels well balanced. The motor, although having a bit of a grinding sound, runs smooth and strong. It has a lot of power for a smaller drill. The forward and reverse switch seems a bit fragile though. It is thinner plastic and is located above the trigger and the variable speed dial. It is easy to use and very accessible but sticks out. In my opinion it is more likely to get snagged and broken. I love the belt clip which saves having to find a level place to set the drill down in between use, making it less likely that the drill will fall off of tables or ladders. It has a continuous “lock on” button conveniently located on the side on the grip so no turning the drill to change from manual trigger operated power to continuously running. The keyless chuck saves time in allowing quick and easy bit changes. It’s variable speed dial is located under the forward/ reverse lever and on the trigger. It is a small round knob that needs to be turned in order to change speed. This is where I think it drops the ball for me. It is rather hard to turn while wearing work gloves as it is small and set in amongst the trigger and the forward/ backward switch and although it protrudes out beyond the trigger enough to operate with bare hands, it is awkward to turn when using work gloves. Even with what I see as being small imperfections, this drill has so many more good qualities making it a very convenient and usable tool.
This drill is a decent quality entry level inexpensive tool. This tool line is really the cheaper store brand line of power tools. As usual you probably get what you pay for as far as future dependability. The drill is about medium weight and seems like it would be fine for the occasional use, but not for everyday or commercial use. The features include a decent size chuck and a reversible motor. It also has variable speed and a knob that you can turn to restrict the trigger position. So far with the times I have used it it seems like it would get the light duty job done, but could not stand up to continuous use (1-2 hours). However, the price for one of these is very reasonable – so for the average homeowner it should be fine.
