Imusa Small Traditional Wood Mortar and Pestle, Beige

I love wood! So, when I found this wooden mortar and pestle, at such a reasonable price, I ordered it and I'm glad I did.

This looked mini, but it's about 5 inches tall. I have used it to muddle basil, and to smash my avocados. The pestle works will in my sons plastic dishware so sometimes I just use it just in his bowls. It's cute boho decor as well, I have open shelves and it looks cute on display. I did add an air plant for now in there and it kind of works.

I like the mortar and pestle so much it is kind of small but Im really only going to use it to crush up garlic and some medicine so its fine by me.

Much smaller than expected

NEEDS SANDING AND A GLOẞ. DOING THE GLOSS WITH NAILPOLISH, AND SANDING MYSELF LEAVES RESIDUE IN MY FOOD-- YUCK.

I love this little traditional set. We did have to sand it inside and out a little bit because it was a splinter factory but it all worked out. Perfect for grinding up herbs and medicines. High rim so it doesn't pop out when breaking up larger pieces. It's just a starter though, investing in a stone set soon.

I purchased this to grind a very small quantity of a couple of herbs. Didn't want to spend a lot, some of the prices were too high, for what I needed. This fit the need, but took forever to arrive. It was ok size, but looked like it was made crudely in a 3rd world country. Was coated in some type of stain/shellac, with runs and mistakes. Very amateurish piece, not really worth the price, even though it was cheap.

Cheaply made and glazed. I am unable to really grind things into a fine powder because I'm afraid I'll break the entire item, and I ground something down once and can't remove the residue from inside. You're better off with a marble or stone one, or just a better quality one.

Its the size i wanted. However, this thing is really rough. I haven't used it yet because I'm going to sand this thing down and rub it with oil before i use it. Its raw wood when it comes, so any liquid that results from grinding is going to be absorbed and not get into your recipe. Kind of saddened that this became a kit instead of being able to be used right out of the box.
