Keystone All Natural Beef, 28 oz Can

I am so happy to have found this product. It is so good and so easy to prepare. Just heat it up. I serve it over rice.. sometime mashed potatoes and it is delicious. Preparation is the key. So easy and less work than cooking stew beef or country style steak or roast beef etc… and it tastes amazing.

My husband and I were so surprised, this ground beef and chopped beef were actually really good. We will purchase again when available!!

This was probably the best cant meat I have ever had. It comes with a small amount of lard on top which we scooped off and used to fry up some onions and mushrooms. Then we added the meat and gravy straight from the can and broke up the large clumps. Served over mashed potatoes with a sprinkles of chives and cayenne powder. You would never believe it was from a can and the exp was 8/27! I just wish Walmart didn't put a 2 can maximum on the order.

I like this beef generally. I do wish it would be made with regular table salt instead of sea salt, as we're trying to avoid contamination with the undesirable trace minerals that sometimes come in some less refined sea salts, such as lead. But the condition it arrives in is completely unpredictable. Occasionally it's great and arrives with only a couple of cans lightly dented but usable. But other times, more commonly, it arrives with many egregiously dented. Usually we suck it up and just toss the cans. This time there were so many that were not usable that I had to place a return on them. What happened this time was I ordered a bunch of cans in several orders, and they packed the cans ON THEIR SIDES. Sorry for the shouting caps, but it was bad. Due to how they were lying on their sides, the dents were mostly at the seams, which is the most unsafe place for them. They were on more than half the cans. In one of the boxes, one of the cans (of the Ground Beef, not the Natural Beef) was already leaking at one of these dents. Often these kinds of dents don't involve the real deep and obvious dents, but in a way they are more dangerous. Being on the seams means they compromise the cans and can allow bacteria to enter. All I can say is, if these cans are going to be shipped on their sides, they need to make the cans constructed differently! Anyway, because we need the food, I will try again another time. I do like this beef and it's good for long-term storage. But I may have to supply it from somewhere else if it keeps up, even if the cost is higher, if the cans can't arrive safely.

The product boasts that it only has two ingredients - Beef and Sea Salt - but 8 of the 28 oz in this can were a drainable liquid, which means I only got 20 oz of beef/beef fat. When shopping for protein I rely on the posted price per pound to comparison shop. Fortunately my cans were only $7.74 each, not $22.99, at the time of purchase. However, if I knew in advance that that price meant paying over $4/lb for mystery liquid (not listed as an ingredient) I would have made a different choice; something drain-free.

I tried this for the first time today. I will not be buying it again, certainly not for the price I paid. It is not listed in the ingredient list but when I opened the can there were three - four half dollar size globs of white fat and at least 1/4 cup of liquid. I expected to find nothing but beef and salt as stated on the can. Next time I feel like beef, I will put the cost towards a nice ribeye. The brown stuff you see on the left side is the settlement after draining the liquid.

We ordered the 12 can case. 8 of the cans were badly dented, with torn labels. They were deliberately shipped that way because there were no damaged to the outer box at all. Whoever put these in the box KNEW they were no good. I cannot get though AI to speak with a person. I'm not driving 22 miles to fed ex to return them. So I can throw them away and shop elsewhere. NEVER order food products from Walmart to be shipped. $135 !!! save your money and buy elsewhere.

Actually this is a great product , the poor review is due to its mishandling at the fulfillment center . Shipping box arrived in good condition and is was well packaged . The cans however have been very abused . I wish I could show more pictures 3 out of 7 were dented so badly that I will return them for fear the seal has been compromised ! I will be returning damaged product and ordering some more hoping it arrives safely !

Item came with 1 of 2 cans dented on 3 sides. The 2 cans were placed in a plain brown paper bag which had absolutely no padding.

I'm giving this item a bad rating only because of denting.....The product is great, thank you Wal Mart for carrying them in their warehouse. The problem is, the cans always gets dented either by being put into the shipping box already dented or dented because they are heavy and are not properly packaged for shipping to prevent denting while in transit. This is the second order that cans came dented. This time, at the crimp seal, see photo.. Now I have to consume the cans now in fear of the seal failing during storage.
