this is a great quality peeler I like the way it feels in my hand the angle is good the blades very sharp very happy with it good quality would buy it again but I don't think I'll need one for a long time
It's purely by happenstance that I bought this. I came across a review of peelers and this was highly ranked. It replaces a 30 year old peeler in desperate of replacement. It's as good as the review stayed.
Love this peeler. It looks a little lousy but the blade is fantastic and I would highly recommend it. It says it's dishwasher safe but I've been avoiding it and I've been handwashing it only. I haven't had any rust develop which I know some other reviews were complaining of (maybe because I'm handwashing it?). So far, I have used it to peel frozen ginger and carrots and it's handled both perfectly. Overall, I would recommend this and I thank Wirecutter for the recommendation.
I just bought these as a gift for a friend. I have been using my current one for over 12 years and it still peels as well as ever! Even the plastic handle that has the little edge to get potato eyes out with has stayed sharp! Easy to find in the drawer because they are bright. Love these, Thank you!
Same comments as for the blue peeler!! I have 3 of these peelers. After struggling for years with other (useless, not sharp enough) peelers, I bought this peeler and it is wonderful! It makes cleaning carrots a breeze, peeling potatoes a joy, removing potato eyes simple. It even peels tough squash rinds. So glad to have found this. I would never go back to a traditional peeler. Thank you to the inventor!
This works great! So far, I have only used it )n carrots. I have no idea how long it will last. It was fun to use.
I purchased this peeler just a few days ago due to recommendations from America's Test Kitchen however it's already rusted. The peeler is sharp, feels good in the hand, and peels off thin layers preserving expensive edible fruits and vegetables but I'm disappointed that it's already rusted. I ONLY washed by hand as I do not put any knives, peelers, or pizza cutters in the dishwasher to help preserve their edges. Hopefully the product was not a counterfeit.
Was recommended on ATK, but I'm personally not a fan. You have to be very slow and careful while using this peeler on potatoes or you'll slice off the tips of your fingers. Ive been using the peeler less than a month and I've already sliced myself three times. Too small for adult hands. But too dangerous for children. Blade rusts easily Feel chintzy Awkward for peeling potatoes.
I bought this and one shaped like my regular peeler. The regular peeler is great! This one; however, did not peel nicely. It didn't peel long strips, was not as sharp as the other purchase. I am going to see if my hubby likes it but I will be using the other purchase.
This just feel cheap and flimsy. Buy an OXO peeler for the same money and get a quality piece of kitchen equipment.
