Brought back memories

Waferthin58 October 21, 2022

When I first saw this set I knew I had to get it, lots of memories when younger playing my original Atari 2600. A great build, I liked the pop up diorama tho parts of it are a little flimsy. Initially I had trouble closing the top completely but after checking the instructions I realised where I had gone wrong & it was an easy fix. I dusted off my original six switch Atari 2600 & my asteroids game & couldn't resist a photo of the two together. Well done lego, a great set.

Atari 2600 - Be quick before retirement!!

NurseTicklishPrawn October 29, 2023

I ordered this purely as I have a spare shelf on my TV stand. However, I was stunned at what a fun build this turned out to be. I would recommend this to anyone; especially to those who actually remember the 2600 and owned one. It looks amazing and the 'hidden' set inside is great fun along with the game models included (centipede is the best).

Amazing Set

Anonymous November 29, 2022

Really enjoyed building the Atari 2600… it was my first Lego project in ~30 years, and I'm hooked! Enjoyable to build, a great quality instruction manual (including 80's era adverts!), and a hyper-realistic end product.

A wonderful throwback

Dar Does A Lot of Lego January 4, 2024

I absolutely love this set. Not only does it look decently realistic, but the additional details of the person playing the Atari and the games “come to life” tiles made it an absolute joy to build.

Building my childhood brick by brick

CommanderDizzyKeyboard August 13, 2022

This is one of the quickest purchases I've made upon seeing a single picture. I spent countless mornings before heading to elementary school playing the Atari 2600. It was the beginning and end of those years of my life and provided another way to join together my small yet growing group of friends. This set included one of my most important factors for calling it a fantastic product, which is at one or more points during the build, I will be unable to refrain from chuckling or laughing in a room all by myself at how clever it is. This time around, I was particularly tickled by the way the four switches on the front worked exactly as they did on the original product (the On/Off & Color/BW switches stay in place on your choice, while the other two would snap back to the top after pushing them down.) I also enjoyed the side scenes from the three games. The centipede was a fun build, but the Asteroids scene feels the most unique.

Awesome set for anyone into retro consoles!!!

Delsanium August 5, 2022

This set is absolutely AMAZING! It goes together real nice, and the console itself looks and "works" just like an Atari 2600 from the 80s, besides the studs of course. I never grew up in that era, but I've done a ton of research on Atari, and from that alone I can say that from a nostalgic point of view, anyone who grew up in that era would like this. I also like the inclusion of the game cartridges and their dioramas. The cartridge shelf was a nice touch as well, and the little hidden scene in the console was also a nice addon. All in all, a very solid set. Honestly, you guys should make sets specifically for Atari game cartridges so you could collect them with their dioramas.
