Perfect starter kayak for young kids. My sons love the green color. One of our kayaks got lost in transit. I contacted lifetime and they had a replacement shipped out right away. Great customer service.
I purchased 2 for the grandkids. They were the hit of the vacation time. Six to 11 year olds. There are foot rest for different lenth legs built into kayak. They clean up easily and store well.
We were looking for youth kayaks and have had Lifetime products before, so we thought this would be a good purchase. We went with the Recruit model as it was rated for 150 lbs, vs the 130 lbs of the Wave model, thinking it would last the kids a little bit longer. There is quite a price difference between the two, but overall very happy with the purchase!!
The ease at which our 6 year old grandson took to navigating the Recruit 6.5 kayak was astonishing. He paddled along the shoreline with such ease. Our 4 year old granddaughter is looking forward to getting her own for her birthday. We were very impressed with the Lifetime brand!!
I bought this for my son to fish on some small lakes and creeks near our house. It’s light, easy to carry and since we could fit it in our mid-sized SUV with the seats down, didn’t need to buy any additional racks or tows. It’s a sit on so it took some time to get used to, but good to get him started.
I bought three Kayaks for my elementary school aged boys. They are quite sturdy and feel quality. Also impressed with this company. I am not sure seat backs are needed but we decided to look into them and after a simple email with the model number they have been provided; GREAT customer service. Thank you. When it's time to get them adult size Kayaks, I will return.
I bought this kayak for myself. I am a small adult. This kayak tracks well enough, but of course the paddle is too short for an adult. There is no place for any type of storage, so I added a bungee with padeyes. Also, although there is a recessed area that acts as a handle, it was hard for me to carry this, so I added two side handles and a T stern handle so that I could carry this with my husband. I don't know if a child could carry this or not. Also, there is no comfortable way to sit on this, so I added a gel seat and purchased the seat back from the company. I also had to purchase scupper hole plugs from another company. I plugged the two holes under the seat, but left the one near the bow open for drainage, which would not be needed with a longer paddle. If you are an adult, you will want to make this little kayak comfortable. It is the only length that would fit in my car with the seats down, so I am glad to have it. But, it has taken lots of work to make it work for me.
We purchased the item and it was delivered without an oar. Walmart customer service called the company and we were told they would ship us one. It never came. When I called the company back it was a private number and Walmart confirmed they were no longer using the company. Never got the item 🤨
Very unstable. Not true to specs. Returned item.
I bought two of these in June for my seven and eight year old. We were only able to use them 3x The plastic was fairly soft but I figured we’re only using them on the lake.. My daughter launched hers and the bottom of the Hull is crushed in, it capsized on her in the middle of the lake FULL of water. It couldn’t be righted as the water was too heavy. Thankful that she had a life jacket and is a good swimmer. Her brother helped tow it to shore. Not something a product I would recommend. Do t be cheap like me and buy a better quality.
