Open box, previously owned or used item. Router arrived on time but was an open box and you could tell because a sticker was removed for the power port. Missing CD instructions. Did come with quick setup manual. This may be why the cost was reduced. Router would not work as it was pre-configured from most likely, someone else trying to get it to work. The default login was changed. At first I thought it was DOA because no lights flash when you plug it in and fire it up. It takes a little while to boot up before a top display light comes on. I did a hard reset to restore the default setup and then it came to life. The default login works when you connect the computer to the LAN port. Once I logged in, I was able to easily configure the router to make it work. I currently have the router connected to a POE that provides 50Mbs service. I have many WIFI devices connected to it and they are all working. So, the price was right, though a little scary because I wasn't sure if it would work. As for setup, this router was extremely easy to configure. The router was able to login to my ISP account to adjust final config. It was really very easy. Walmart stocks this router but it cost almost twice as much. Lastly, my printer boots up and grabs what ever IP address it can find which causes a loss of connectivity to computer. To fix that, you can easily reserve an IP address to lock it in place. Now everything works as it should. I have it sitting in the living room of my house and it easily connects to rooms above and below in a 3 story house. Good router, easy setup. I saved some money buying this router even though it was a little scary. Hope that helps other buyers. Pros: Easy setup. Easy to config. Easy to reserve IP addresses. Recommended by ISP installer. Cons: None discovered.
Well after a delay in delivery that the supplier blamed on the post office. The unit finally arrived 5 days late. The item arrived in good condition. Set up was fairly easy. I bought it to replace a router supplied by Spectrum Cable. I recreated my home network and everything works great. I like having an app to manage the router and my network on my phone.
Had a problem with getting kicked out of the game servers for Elder Scrolls Online. Even after port forwarding with the old one. Soon as we plugged this one in and set it up, I was never dropped again. No lag, no issues at all. Great router and great price
A Router that does what it's supposed to do and (fairly) easy to setup Pretty good reviews from other purchasers but after researching CNET.com and Wired.com this Linksys-AC1900-Dual-Band-MU-Mimo-Max-Stream-Wi-Fi-Router-EA7500 came pretty highly recommended. It has definitely done the job for the last 45 days (or so) under heavy load from anywhere to 9-15 different devices in a family of 5 in our household... One other note - don't poo poo this Router if you have "dead spots" in your house. EVERY home/business WILL shave these "dead spots". Resign yourself to the fact that you will need either a wireless Router Extender or the (newer) Extenders that utilize the structure's electrical wiring as a conduit to create a wired connection / LAN access port at an electrical outlet in one of these "dead spots". Very few homes/business have an unobstructed clear line of site on 1 level any more. Don't get frustrated- just work the problem!
Ohhhhh, this sucker is fast. Twas very easy to setup via the Linksys smart Wi-Fi software, and the feature set, like, the guest access, auto dual band access, the great parental controls, the ability for us control freaks to manually set and gain access to every tweak available is very welcomed, two USB ports, being able to assign channels to individual devices, beam forming, Mu-MiMo, and on, and on, and on......AT THIS PRICE AND WITH FREE SHIPPING......what's not to like. My friend was having a problem with slooow internet connections (his teen daughter would be on line doing her homework on her computer, the playstation streaming Netflix videos to the tv, her tablet with music playing, texting her pals on her phone, the wife on line on her computer, and him trying to download videos on his computer and phone all at the same time.....sheeesh, no wonder was slow). Told him about this router and...no more problems. Now, he's not too computer literate, but he had no problems setting this router up in under an hour. Oh, what used to take two hours to download, now takes him 32 min. under the same conditions as mentioned above. By the way, there is a way to set this router up with out an internet connection if you follow the quick setup instructions. There is a way to access the firmware setup software both wirelessly and by hardwire. Just to try it, I connected to my old router as an add on access point......no problem. Oh, before I close, Kudos to Walmart. Ordering was a snap, item came two days before the promised arrival date, shipping information updates on my order was timely and informative. My only complaint was the 3.70 handling fee charged on my "free shipping", no one else I know does that.
Hello, I have had quite a few Wifi Wireless Midrange to High End Routers Over the past 7-8ish Years Brands like Netgear {My Favorite Wifi Home Network Equipment/Products Brand), Asus, and One Linksys that died all the sudden after just 8 months of use. I swore i'd never purchase another Linksys made product, but discovered after some online research that they had been recently bought by Belkin who makes a ton of Home, Business wireless networking equipment such as cables, switches routers, etc and had a good reputation. So i went and picked up this FREAKING BEAST Linksys #EA7500 AC1900 Dual Band Wireless Router at my local WallyWorld and got home hooked up and my speeds are AWESOME HIGH PERFORMANCE FINALLY GETTING WHAT I'M PAYING FOR!!.. After 3-4 years of getting nowhere near what i was paying for, having Comcast service techs come out numerous times to check my homes wiring, signal status, and on and on. Thanks to Linksys and this Model# EA7500 AC1900 Dual Band Router i get excellent signal and strength all over my midsize two-story home as well as outside in my front and back yard never any less than 3 BARS!!.. I would highly recommend this Linksys #EA7500 Series Router to anybody family, friends, whoever it maybe because it really is a High Quality-High Performance Dual Band Wireless Router that's solid top to bottom!!! :) 2 Thumbs Up Linksys on this one!!!!!
excellent signal all through the house and super fast!
When I had to call Linksys tech support for help setting this router up, they said this was an outdated router, but they would provide one-time only support. I'm concerned that Walmart would knowingly sell an outdated product.
PARENTAL CONTROLS DO NOT WORK!!!! Timers do not trigger, blocked websites do not get blocked, switch to immediately turn off internet on a device inconsistently works. No vpns being used to bypass. New, uncached content can still be accessed. DO NOT BUY FOR PARENTAL CONTROLS. Otherwise, decent cheap router with good coverage in a 2 story, 2,000 sqft house.
BEWARE!!!! The Decription says "New", but this arrived with a plain box missing OEM packaging and manual. This is not NEW! Drecription was very MISLEADING!!! I issued a REFUND.
