Masterbuilt Gravity Series 560 Digital Charcoal Grill and Smoker Combo

great smoker. it does use quite a bit of charcoal, but its so easy to use and puts out some fantastic bbq. wings, pulled pork, brisket, smoked mac n cheese. these all came out great. I would recommend this to anyone looking to start smoking or tired of tending to a stick burner.

Before the grill is delivered have an area set aside where it can put in place like your garage for example. The grill will be put in place with a truck mounted fork lift that is on a pallet. You will need room to not only carefully cut the box down but start putting the grill together. Taking my time it took me about a day to put it together. Very good instructions.

After a month or so i still love this thing. I left the weber smokefire ex6 for this and it has put out much better food than pellets could. It feels pretty well built. It cooks great and smokes a ton, which was my biggest reason for purchasing it. There is a ton of cooking space. Everything comes apart nice and easy to clean as well. The controller isnt bad at all, mine runs within 15-20 degrees below of what its set at but its consistent across the board so thats nice. Things i think it needs is a bigger hopper, better seals on the hopper door and ash tray door, and the app for your phone rarely works if ever. I think for the 1050 it could really benefit from maybe another 6"-12" taller hopper or make the hopper an inch or 2 wider on the insode diameters for enough fuel for 12+ hour smokes. The seals could use like a rope style gasket instead of what they have, the hopper lid does let out a little smoke, doesnt affect your end results at all though. The app does not work for me, as ive tried using it multiple times. That definitely is not a deal breaker at all.

Overall an excellent cooker. I love the massive temperature range. I love the fact that it uses charcoal. I love the very consistent temperature control. I love the speed to temp. Three cons: 1) wifi connectivity is so bad as to be unusable 2) burns excessive fuel from what I can tell and wastes charcoal as well 3) some components were shipped with an awfully terrible application of oil. I now know that's by design but it wasn't in the instructions. I wasn't made to expect this gross looking manifold. It made for a bad unboxing experience, a bad first impression.

At first this smoker was great. It was easy to use and could set the time and temp and forget it for a few hours. The taste was awesome. After a few months it started catching on fire inside even after regular scraping and cleaning of the inside. The electric plastic door switches melted. I easily ordered two new ones. Then the wiring to the electric blower fan got melted and shorted out the wiring and the fan. I tried to contact Masterbuilt customer service but got a prerecorded message to go to the website. I went to the website and no parts were available. And because I didn't register the product with my receipt Masterbuilt customer service refused to provide me with service. I could not find any identical blower fans on the internet or amazon either. Right now I have a $500 pile of scrap metal. It could easily be fixed of I could find a replacement fan. I gave this product a one star mainly because of a lack of customer support to fix the product.

We were really excited for this purchase. The unit came busted up and destroyed. Discuss shipping up front when purchased to avoid defeat when it arrives. They made it right but shipping new parts but it was still very unorganized. I will not purchase again hopefully the unit smokes well.
