I have tried every brand over the years for fun but this brand is the best. Every bag I've gotten from Walmart and Amazon are mostly medium sized that are hard, dense and heavy. There are some few big pieces too. 1 chimney lights fast and lasts 8 hours. I will always use this charcoal
I received 2 bags and used one in my Gravity 1050 and so far 1 firebox full from the second bag in my Kamado Joe grill. A full bag fits perfectly to fill up the gravity series hopper. I did low and slow pulled pork in the gravity and roasted a chicken at 400° on the Kamado. The lump lights fast and burns great. The lump sizes are consistent. Not too big and not too small. They are perfect for the gravity series grills.
I tried this because of the price and Walmart didn’t have a lot to choose from during winter. I have bought several bags now. I use primarily with my Kamado Big Joe. It has been a great charcoal. Some nice sized pieces in each bag and very little small. Lights up reasonably but seems dense so lights slower but burns longer in my opinion. Smoke was pleasant and seems a bit milder than royal oak. Much better quality than royal oak at the same price point. I keep going back so I give it 5 stars.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used the Masterbuilt lump charcoal a week ago to cook a pork butt on my new 600. Lump had great flavor, burned slow with minimal ash and was reasonably priced. Full hopper lasted about 8hrs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Never run out on fuel for the summer. I enjoy using MasterBuilt lump charcoal, it last longer than normal coal and doesn’t have a taste to it. I can’t get enough of this lump charcoal from MasterBuilt.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very impressed with the Masterbuilt lump charcoal. Great for getting a very hot fire going for searing meat and then a steady, even heat for cooking. Meat is expensive. Don't penny pinch on the fuel--it does make a difference!
mostly really small pieces in the bag I received, seemed good quality but due to the chunk sizes will not buy again
There's about 10 lumps and everything else is fines. How anyone could sell this as lump is a joke.
Opened the box and the bag was blown out the side charcoals everywhere it’s not even a full bag
charcoal looks decent. good lumps in bag but i cannot take the stench it puts off. weird cigar like aroma. i think of cheap wine and gross cigars when i lit these. used in an offset smoker, ruined my morning.
