McCormick sent this product for me to try out for free. I added it to my hot tea which was delicious! I made banana bread (chopped it up a bit more) and it gave a nice little zing to the bread. It complements the bananas nicely. It's a soft and chewy consistency. Sweet and spicy kick if eaten out of the jar. I would like to purchase more and try them in cookies. I highly recommend this product.
I am very pleased with the quality of this McCormick organic crystallized ginger, it came fresh, the pieces are soft, chewy and covered in sugar, love the well balanced sweet spicy flavor, so far I used these in a stir fry, brings out the flavors, adds depth and a pinch of spice, as an addition to my tea I can definitely taste the delicious ginger, ideal to make ginger snap cookies with the perfect amount of sweetness and spice, also love to eat it by itself, not only is a tasty snack but it helps settle my stomach, definitely great after dinner for its digestive properties. The quality is superb, I'm definitely buying these again, highly recommended!
I recently used McCormick Crystallized Ginger in a New York Times Cooking recipe for Applekuchen with Honey and Ginger, and the results were fantastic. The quality of the ginger is evident right out of the bottle. The pieces are consistently sized and have a tender, chewy texture without being overly fibrous or tough. What stands out most is the balance; it delivers that signature sharp, peppery ginger heat but is mellowed beautifully by the sugar coating. In the Applekuchen, the ginger softened slightly during the bake, infusing the honey-sweetened batter with a sophisticated warmth that complemented the tartness of the apples perfectly. It added a lovely textural contrast to the soft cake and crisp fruit. Pros: Uniformity: Consistent dice size makes it easy to measure and distribute evenly in batters. Flavor Profile: Distinct ginger "zing" that isn't masked by the sugar. Versatility: Works just as well as a snack or tea stirrer as it does in heavy baking. Cons: The pieces can occasionally stick together in the jar, but they are easy to separate by hand. Final Verdict: Whether you are following a specific NYT recipe or just looking to elevate your standard gingerbread or muffins, this is a pantry staple. It provides a reliable, high-quality flavor that makes home-baked goods taste like they came from a professional bakery! Thank you! Tips for Using Crystallized Ginger Prevent Sinking: Toss the ginger bits in a tablespoon of your flour mixture before adding them to the batter; this helps them stay suspended in the cake rather than sinking to the bottom. Clean Cutting: If you need smaller bits, lightly coat your knife blade with flour or non-stick spray to prevent the sugar from sticking while you chop. Storage: Keep the lid tightly sealed in a cool, dry place to ensure the ginger remains chewy and doesn't harden over time.
Ginger is one of those spices that I usually associate with holiday baking, and it can be difficult to find small amounts for baking at other times of the year. I was so excited to try the McCormick Gourmet Crystallized Ginger courtesy of BzzAgent because I've been baking up a storm this year. My family fell in love with a ginger-based cookie last Christmas and I was finally able to make a second batch. It was so nice to not have to struggle with the sticky mess left after chopping large candied ginger chunks. The flavor was intensely gingery and I loved having the convenience of keeping crystallized ginger on hand year-round. I'll definitely rebuy.
All the flavor of a fresh piece of ginger, none of the extra utensils and shavings. I haven't noticed a difference in any of the dishes I typically use fresh ginger in. I recommend this to anyone pressed for time, looking for a few chances to save time without sacrificing quality.
I really love McCormick Gourmet Organic Crystallized Ginger 2.0 oz. The ginger comes in a glass jar with a shaker top. I use the ginger in some tea or with lemon water as a refreshing drink or a pick me up. You can add it to yogurt or ice cream, or cookies for baking. I just like to eat a little bit to refresh my palate or as a little pick me up. All you need is a little. I really enjoy this product and highly recommend it.
I love this McCormick organic crystallized ginger. It adds a touch of flavor to my cooking, especially in desserts and baked goodies. It also works great in teas. It is well balanced with the perfect amount of sweetness. I absolutely love this product and highly recommend giving it a try.
I recently tried McCormick Gourmet Organic Crystallized Ginger and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The ginger tastes fresh with a clean, natural flavor that really stands out. Unlike many crystallized ginger products, this one isn't overly sweet, which I really appreciated—it allows the subtle spice and warmth of the ginger to come through without being overpowering. The texture is just right, and it makes for a great nibble on its own or a flavorful addition to recipes. If you're looking for a high-quality crystallized ginger that balances sweetness with authentic ginger flavor, this is definitely worth trying.
McCormick's crystalized ginger was tasty! I used it in a stir fry, it added a depth of flavor that had my husband eating seconds. I also ate it plain to soothe an upset stomach. The taste was pleasant with a little snap at the end. I would recommend to anyone that uses ginger in cooking or to settle an upset tummy. The only odd thing is the shaker top, the crystals are too big to fit through so I set it aside to reuse once I finish up my ginger.
McCormick kindly sent me their Organic Crystallized Ginger for free to review! I will say that at first I was not sure what I would be able to use this for, but I was pleasantly surprised at how versatile of a product it was. I was able to make delicious ginger muffins, use it as a topping in homemade vanilla ice cream, and add it to my morning cup of tea! The flavor it provides elevates any dish and I will continue to find new ways to incorporate it into my cooking and baking.
