More Birds Finch Feeder, Metal ScreenThistle Seed, Yellow

I just hung the feeder this morning, so I'll wait to see how much the birds like it. The feeder holds a good amount of seed. I put a mixture of black oilers, sunflower chips, and thistle seed in the feeder.

I hung this feeder on a tall Shepherd's Hook with a metal squirrel baffle. Filled with thistle seed, in my area it attracts House Finches and the occasional Gold finch. Sparrows feed on the lower cup. It has worked well so far (2 weeks)

Sturdy little feeder! My finches are loving the nyger seed I feed them from this. The feeder is easy to use and I love how it unscrews from the top and bottom for easy cleaning. A total winner in every way!

The birdfeeder is built well and easily filled with thistle. My problem is the finches don't eat from the feeder. My old feeder was in the exact, same spot and I had many finches come. It is not really anything against the feeder, but they may not like the design? I don't know.

It's a very cute bird feeder and sturdy the only complaint is that when pouring bird seeds into the tube, it goes everywhere with the mesh holes. But one positive thing is that the squirrel couldn't get to it. I've seen more birds I've never seen before.

The holes were to big for the thistle seed. It fell our easy. Also the big birds were happy because they could get their beaks in the openings . I gave it to someone who was going to use it with bigger feed. Holes to big

The slots to hold the screen on where so tight I had to pry it open and then had to pry the slots open for it to go back together. After all that work, the holes are too big for thistle seed and small seed. A lot of expensive bird seed feel completely out through the holes. I use a mix of thistle and small sunflower pieces. At first I thought that if I filled it up more it would just hold it all in place. But no, after filling it and hanging it up the entire thing emptied in less than 30 seconds. It is a horrible design.

This bird feeder is well built and sturdy. I bought it because its metal and weather resistant. It is also easy to fill but I had to return it. The mesh holes are huge and when I poured thistle seed into it, they poured right out of the mesh. So this product is labeled for thistle seed but it is not. It will only work with regular finch seed blends. So keep this in mind when ordering this product.

I have a healthy population of finches and wrens of all types, especially gold finches. I've had this feeder hung out for a couple months so there's been plenty of time for them to get used to it. They still won't touch it. The mesh sides are thin metal that bends and dents very easy. That being said, the holes in the mesh are so small they can't get any seeds through it. Even small seed varieties like pure Nyjer seed, which is tiny, doesn't work. The birds will flock to my gazebo feeders, cedar feeders, thistle socks, you name it. They will go right past this one to get to them. Not worth the purchase.
