powerful and quick

Clicker7 March 16, 2017

Using this to make flour and course grainmeal from whole rice, wheat and oats, works great, powerful and quick. I never had any problem with it. I bought 2 of them and use both at the the same time. Im carful not to stress the motors and overheat it. The resulting grind is a mix of granules and powder, same for grains and coffee. I grind grains, and separate the course from the flour using a fine mesh strainer, then regrind the course mix again. I never had to clean it cause the grains I grind are not oily like coffee is. As for noise level, this is very loud. You need to plug your ears or leave the room. Your apartment neighbours can easily hear it, maybe even wake them early. This is a powerful grinder. It grinds through whole rice/wheat/oat grains with no strain. Yes there will always be a little powdery mess from the collector container, thats just how it is. Be sure to clean all parts from factory oils with soapy water and let dry a day before first using.

Love this machine! Price point makes it better.

Anonymous March 11, 2013

I use this for espresso only. This machine got a lot of good reviews so I took a chance. I can return it if it performs poorly for grinding espresso. Well this machine isn't going back! I always had my beans ground from my local coffee shop. Number 2 on their machine which is very fine. Only trouble is a noticeable drying out of the grounds within a few days which produces poor crema. Now with this machine I don't have that trouble anymore. Grind what I need when I need it. I like the fine grind it does. Comparible to what the coffee shop was doing for me (it is on the finest setting to do this). Works perfectly with my espresso machine. I can put 3/4 of a pound of beans in the holder and the lid fits tight enough that I notice no drying out what so ever.

Why pay more for less?

TheOldScottsman November 2, 2012

My wife and I are big coffee drinkers, and insist on the best. We had a top brand coffee grinder that "died" after 3 or 4 years, and couldn't find another like it, so we got the Mr Coffee grinder while we looked. We've stopped looking for our "old favorite" coffee grinder!! The Mr Coffee grinder is better than what we had - it's our "new favorite"

Absolutely the Best

Rotto November 20, 2013

I've had several coffee grinders--Sunbeam, Oster, GE. This is by far the best. It's quieter, makes a more consistent grind, is easier to clean, and has a neat way to set just how much coffee you want. When it hits that amount, it shuts off automatically. You don't have to guess how much ground coffee you're going to get. And for heaven's sake, only get a burr grinder like this one. Blade grinders do a lousy job!

Unbelieveably great coffee grinder!

xhotdoglady August 23, 2016

This is my third coffee grinder and it is the best I have owned. A burr grinder definitely grinds coffee better than all the rest. My only disappointment is that is makes a mess on my counter every time it gets used so I purchased a small, recessed plastic cutting board to keep is on so that I need only to clean the area every few days or as I see that the mess is annoying me. Actually, all of the grinders I have owned made a mess so this one is no exception. Fantastic and easy to use. Well worth the extra money.

Mr. Coffee Burr Mill Grinder

JudyG August 5, 2016

We went thru many coffee grinders before we found this one at our local Walmart Superstore and were we every happy! This is a great product to replace the same great product that we absolutely worked to death. We are lovers of really good, freshly ground coffee and this Mr. Coffee burr grinder is the best we've found for any price. And the fact that we could order it direct from Walmart online and have it delivered right to our front door was wonderful for me plus it saved gas and wear and tear on our car. That, for me, is a new and wonderful convenience. As you might have guessed, I'm a first time orderer from Walmart online but I can certainly recommend it as being easy and efficient. Plus, you can find things online that may be out of stock in your store or are either no longer carried in your location. If you're local store is like mine, you can't shop at night because the shelves are always picked clean and empty and the things you want are never there. Not that way online.

High Value Burr Mill

OHJim August 2, 2014

I checked the reviews on Ten Best coffee grinders and this one was highly rated. It rivals the conical burr mills in performance and it is priced exceptionally well. Be aware that when you grind coffee in the early morning, there will be noise, but all of them do that. I think it is the "best bang for the buck" you can get in a burr mill.

French Press (Coarse Grounds) - Good Grinder

CaffeLiebhaberin July 13, 2014

I've only had this for about a week and I use it to grind coarse grounds for a French press. I've used it twice to fill a canister of grounds. So far the unit has ground the beans consistently, which is necessary with a French press (it gets really difficult to press the coffee if there's too many fine grounds in it). The only hitch I've really noticed is that sometimes the beans don't pay through to the burr like they're supposed to, which I assume is due to their oiliness. Aside from that, I'm pleased with it; it's doing the same high-quality job I got from the Capresso grinder that I replaced.

Grind setting

CoffeeSnob October 3, 2016

As I recall, others were saying that it would not grind coarse enough for French Press and / or Drip Coffee pots. I have the opposite problem, if you want to call it that. I have the grinder set at (if settings are #0 - #100, I am at #60 to get drip coffee. While others have stated that the push button switch is not functioning, I have found that you must press it "firmly", and sometimes twice. It is quite reasonable in price and if you want a "perfect" machine, you simply have to pay more. Regards, A Coffee Snob

Used to Higher Quality

CalTechnomaniac April 15, 2014

We had a Cuisinart burr grinder before and thought the Mr. Coffee brand which looked like a similar design would work fine. We were disappointed. The hopper doesn't allow the beans to flow very well and the motor doesn't seem strong enough to grind without straining. I was concerned that it just wouldn't last that long. We took it back and purchased the Cuisinart which was $10 more.
